I am at my 10 month post op, 10/18/04. I seemed to have stopped losing. Over the past 2 weeks havent lost anything. Is this normal? I even started exercising more. Help!

I've been at the same weight for nearly 3 months now. I cut back on food, upped the food, cut back on exercise, upped the exercise, upped the protein, cut the protein, upped everything you can think of and cut it back, but nothing worked. I wish I could help you, but plateau's are normal. Just keep eating right, and you will start loosing again. Nona

Nona's right......unfortunately plateaus are normal, especially when you get further out and closer to goal.....You should consider yourself lucky.....I have gone A LOT longer than two weeks without losing.....It isn't even considered a plateua unless you go six weeks without weight or inches lost. If you are doing everything like you are supposed, keep up the good work and things will start moving again! Take Care and have a great day! Jesi

I am like Nona...haven't lost anything in about 3 months. But unlike Nona, I have not been very good at getting my protein in or eating very well these days. I am so bad at getting in the protein drinks. I hate everyone that I have tried (Unjury, Nectar and Whey Fruity). Just wish there was a pill to take. I know I need to take them for my health but just can't get them down. So TODAY is my new DAY!!! I am going to get those drinks in and stop that snacking!! I know it will get moving again and you will too! Keep up the good work. Rhonda

Hi Rhonda. I drink Atkins Ready-To-Drink Protein Drinks daily, the chocolate and the strawberry flavors. I think they are great and are the only drinks I like! If you haven't already, you might consider trying one to see if they agree with you. They have 20 grams of protein and are low-carb. My sister, who is 120 pounds mind you, drink 1 or 2 a day just to get her protein in and because they are delicious. Good luck.

Hi Susie, like you I haven't lost anything in a couple of months. I would highly recommend you go back to your surgeon. I've been back to mine once already and I'm going again Tuesday. If they he don't know what to do then we are in BIG trouble... lol Take care and don't get discouraged. Jill

This is very normal Susie. Just hang in there and keep doing the right stuff and the weight loss will come. Being so far out the weight loss will definitely slow down but if you stick to the program your body will start to lose again. Just be patient, easier said than done I know. Good for you for increasing the exercise, keep your calories low and no snacking! Your body is just taking a break. Good luck; it's not over yet!

Hey Susie, Just hang in there. I went through the same thing where I didn't lose but maybe 2- 3 pounds in 2 months. I increased my protein and water and kept excercising like I used to amd finally began to lose again. Just stay off the scale and keep believing. Reflect on the weight that you have lost and the fact that you have come this far.
