Well, I guess it's back to MOM. I don't think I can take the Mirilax. It gives me such pain in my side. I took a double dose, and am in such pain and bloating. MOM never gave me these side effects. The same thing happened the last time I tried to take the stuff, but my insurance won't pay for Zelnorm. I just don't know what else to do. How about ? Nona

Nona....Keep the faith and hang in there. You need to get your PCP and WLS surgeon on the same page with you and have them write an appeal to your insurance company in support of you being able to get the Zelnorm. Don't give up with a stinky fight! karie

My insurance is really picky too on which meds it will pay for or won't...But if you fail at a covered one then they should have to let you try another......my insurance does anyway......your doc should be working for you and writing or calling on your behalf....It is silly to pay insurance premiums and still be miserable.....I feel for you honey! I hope you start to feel better soon Jesi

Has your doctor written a letter on your behalf to the insurance carrier explaining your need for Zelnorm and the problems with the medications you have used? I had an experience where the insurance had a strong preference for Nexium over Prevacid (before WLS) and I switched with terrible, painful results. After 2 weeks I couldn't stand it, called the doc who contacted the insurance and I was back on my Prevacid. Surely, there's an answer to this! LuvitsunnyV@goal

I am going to ask my dr to do just that. At least, to get me some samples to try to see if it helps. That way, I will know one way or another. I am feeling a little better. I took MOM and it's moving, although I need to go more. I feel totally full and bloated. Not a good feeling. Nona

My PCP is getting the insurance to pay for the zelnorm and the dr who did the scope has tons of samples and wants me to start right away. Two a day and if it works, I will get a 'script. My PCP says there is always a way to get the insurance to pay for it. Nona
