I really don't know when I am full.
Hi there guys, How is everyone doing? I am fine. I am home from the hospital and it seems now that since my hernia was repaired I really don't feel so constipated anymore. I get full very quickly and sometimes I don't make the best choices with foods. I get full quickly and then I wind up Instead of eating the good stuff, sometimes I eat carbs and drink something and then I get sick. I must learn to shut my mouth. Old habits are hard to break aren't they? Any of you guys have this trouble.
When I go out to eat I can eat so little, I wind up sharing food with my friends. Some of them just don't understand that my intake is very small. I had lunch with my girlfriend who had RNY last august. She ordered this big meal was eating and drinking at the same time. I don't know how she did it.
Do any of you guys feel your pouch is still as small as when you started?
I feel so different than everyone else. Is this normal?
Thank you guys to anyone who answers. You guys do understand if nobody else does.
Have a great weekend..... Lorraine
Since my procedure yesterday, I am eating less than I did last week. About 1000 calories a day, versus 1200-1500 I was eating. I guess it was going two days with no food shrunk my pouch. But I eat a lot compared to others. I can't believe some only eat around 800 calories a day and are satisfied.

Hi Lorraine. I can eat about the same I did at a few months post-op (and I am almost 10 months post-op). I get full pretty quickly and then stay that way until my next meal. I usually only get around 800 calories a day and am COMPLETELY SATISFIED. Some days I get more especially if I go out to eat and then there are some days I barely reach 600 calories. I always feel great though and usually stick to 3 meals a day (for the most part I don't snack). I have lots of energy and exercise a lot. I'm just not hungry (except for head hunger which I battle constantly) which is why I don't consume too many calories at this point. I am sure all of that will change in the future but for now it seems to be working for me. And my weight is still coming off, I've lost 13 pounds this month so far (still have 2 more days left!) and 162 pounds in total since surgery (started at 347 and today I weighed in at 185).
Have a great weekend too.
Lorraine, I agree. I don't see how some eat so much. I think I'm eating maybe a little more that I did 3-4 months ago but it's still not much. Plus there are things that I simply cannot tolerate. I tried to eat a 1/2 a piece of wheat toast last night with my roast beef and lost it all!
You mentioned going out to eat...........how many visits do you get from the waiter/waitress asking if your food is all right? It happens to me every time. I try to share with the hubby but he's allergic to shellfish and that's one of my favorite dense proteins.
By the way, glad you are home from the hospital. Hope all is going well. How did you know you had a hernia?

Ruthanna, Hi there I did not know I had a hernia until I let him go in and look. He said he thought it was an Inner Hernia, but I did not want to go to the OR if you know what I mean. Yes, its so true about the waitress who keeps asking you if everything is OK. I carry one of those restaurant cards I had made on this site. I now can eat kiddies portions and most restaurants honor them.
I now am eating proteins cooked in my pressure cooker. It seems when meat is cooked in there I can enjoy them. Not much but 'LOVING IT"
Like I said I now weighing 135 lbs and I am at "goal". My family especially my daughter think I have lost enough.I am sure I will lose a few more pounds.
Oh well you can't satisfy everyone. I will just keep on my journey.
Take care.... Lorraine
