Just info on PS
Had my first consult today with the plastic surgery and it went well. I had to laugh when they took the photos to send to the insureance. Had to be the WORSE photo I have had! Not to mention the more horrible it looks the better your chances for insurance approval. I was afraid some of the staff would be judgmental of WLS patients but they have a WLS person that does all the work with the insurance and she is a post WLS patient too! So I got to see what the doctor did for her and boy....it makes a world of difference having the plastic surgery. Within the next week or so after all the data is complied they will send it off to insurance and then its time to play the wait and see game.
Doctor said too that I am a excellent candiate and I am within weight goal to proceed with this PS. It is nice to go somewhere were the entire staff makes you feel welcome and congratulates you on your accomplishment!

Hi Tracy...I am within 10 pounds of my goal weight. The plastic surgeon said that if I did just a panni lift I would lose 5-7 lbs and if I did a abdomenplasty (sp) I would lose 10-12 lbs! I am wanting to get a breast lift and augmentation also. Doctor gave me the price with hospital fee and his fees etc and it would be $13,000. My insurance wil pay for the tummy but its a toss up for the breast.
They say if you are within 10% of your goal weight you are ready. Also, once you are losing less than 3 lbs a month is a good way to judge if your body is evening out with the weight loss.

Yeah they tell me I am ready now too.....they had some problems suturing/stapling my incision from my hysterectomy Thursday and said if it doesn't heal I will be approved for a tummy tuck ASAP.....but I am scared and don't want to do anything this soon.....I am keeping my fingers crossed that the incision closes!!!! I am like 15 pounds under my surgeons goal and 10 away from my own. Take Care and I will be sending well wishes for a speedy approval! Jesi
