Traveling I-40

Hello Everyone, this really isn't a question about weight loss but I figured someone out there could help me. My dh and I are going to Myrtle Beach next week (no kids) and we heard that I-40 is down to one lane due to land slides. Does anyone know if the traffic has been really backed up? Is it worth taking the detour that AAA is suggesting? It just seems really out of the way. I am really excited about this trip, we went there in June with the kids and liked it so much we decided to go back and do some shows and stuff. Anyway, thanks in advance for your help!! Jill
