Hi Everyone, I NEED HELP. I keep sabotaging myself. Lately all I WANT to eat is BAD carbs. I bought cheese sticks, cheese cubes, cottage cheese, and beef jerky hoping to help curb my BAD carb snacking, and it is helping a little but now I am even skipping good protein filled meals for the carbs. I know I am only hurting myself but I can't seem to stop and my weight has been still now for about 1 month in that time I did have my gallbladder out but since that surgery I have been a BAD GIRL. Before that I was right in line but I can't seem to get back to it. Any suggestions or advice would be great. I just can't stop myself and I am only 20 LBS from goal. I am very worried at this point. Thanks to all of you for being here so I have you as great support. Michelle 234/144/124?

I don't know if I can help, but I have read that if you eat the bad carbs, that something happens that makes you crave them more then ever. Someone on the main boards said that you have to suffer through something like a withdrawl for 3 days or so, then you can get it back under control. Allison

HI there Michelle. I decided that the best way for me to control my carbs was to buy kiddie packs of snacks. At least I know when to stop. I won't get too many calories in. It's better than eating from the box. I hope I helped you....... ....... Lorraine

Thank you all so much for your help. I keep telling myself I will put myself through the withdrawal but I just haven't been able to. I have a 9 year old son so no carbs isn't going to happen. I would like to but then I just pass by a store and they end up in my hands again. Oh well I guess I have to work on my control. I feel like a newbie. I promised myself that after the honeymoon period was over i would not do this to myself but I guess we all fall but I didn't think I would fall this hard again. Lorraine it is good to see you back on the boards and that they found what was wrong. I was wondering where you went. Good luck to all and thank you again. Michelle

Can your family help? Like hiding the stuff where you don't know where it is? Or putting it in the garage? How about buying good carbs like Triscuits or Wheat Thins? Soy chips are great tasting and low in fat and carbs. Soy trail mixes are another good carb and they fill you for hours. Nona

You are getting great advice already....I don't have much to add, except I know what you are going through......Once you start on the lousy carbs it is so hard to stop!!! They go down so easy and are so satisfying, but then your hungry/snacky like an hour later.....Vicious cycle really!!! I am working on it.....how about sunflower seeds when you need to snack, or some sugar free hard candys to suck on or sugar free gum.....I think the big them is letting them get out of your system for a couple days to get rid of the cravings......only problem is easier said than done!!! Wishing you the best.....Take care Jesi

Michelle, I know exactly what you are going through, I am doing the same thing and I wonder why I can't lose another pound! I have become addicted to Cheetohs and Cheez Its. I just want them all day long. My coworkers are so bad in the eating department that this doesn't help my dilemma. I did try the NO carb thing for one day and was so agitated and mean that my husband went and got me some cheez its (he was trying to be helpful and got tired of being snapped at!- bless his heart) I have got to get it under control. I just had a hole repaired in my esophagus and my throat stretched from a restriction and my surgeon told me that my pouch was about the size of a walnut, so it hasn't stretched, thank God, but it seems I can hold so much more bad stuff at one time but if I try to eat good meat or veggies, I get full so very fast. Hang in there, the advise was great guys, I'll try some of the tips.... I have 4 kids in the house so there are cookies and chips everywhere but I try to buy the ones that I don't like so I won't be tempted. I have been sucking on Life Savers sugar free candies and try to drink when i think I am hungry. We'll see................. Staci

Hi Staci, The advice they all gave WAS great, I so appreciate it. I am glad that I am not the only one going through this I feel so guilty. I will have to try the hard candy and fluids thing too maybe if I can keep my mouth busy my head will stop telling me I am hungry for carbs. Who knows we will see and hopefully that the scale will change. Thank you all. Michelle
