Plastic Surgery post

Well I have started into another journey post WLS....the plastic surgery side of it. I made an appointment to meet with my PCP next Monday so he can put in the referral for me. I went ahead and called the plastic surgeon that my WLS doctor recommended and my appointment is not until January 21, 2005. I was like WOW that long of a wait but it is not even a year until december but I know it will be another insurance battle. So anybody here scheduled a plastic surgery appointment yet? Karie -110

Not here for me. Don't think it'll be a possiblity. I don't hang enough to qualify. My weight is the same, so I'm doing some toning to see if things will shrink, expecially my batwings. The tummy isn't bad at all, but my butt.....Jello all the way, even though I'm up to three miles in 45 minutes on the 'mill. For me that's good. I know others do more and do it faster, but for me and the bad joints, its' an accomplishment. So getting some weights and working on that is my 'plastic surgery'. Hi Karie Congratulations on the -110 WAY TO GO!! I have had three consults and I HAVE A SURGEY DATE Ok, so its not till 3-22-05, but I put down my deposit and have a real date to look forward to. My HMO will not cover any PS so I am self pay. I shopped around and actually went with the highest price DR. After leaving his office, I just knew that he would take the whole picture into account and his work is wonderful. One PS even told me that my boobs would never be perky...WTHeck, then why would I be paying him????? I will be having a TT, breast lift (no implants) and lipo along my flanks. All inclusive price $$$$$13,800 and change. I wish you luck with your insurance, it will be soooo worth it Kimberly 245/127/?? after PS

Like you, I'm exploring Plastics now, too. I haven't made an appointment yet but I did question my insurance. They didn't say no but to say yes they need to know the medical reference code for the procedure. I think I'm just going to go to a couple of surgeons and see if they will deal with the insurance direct. I hate the thoughts of another surgery but I need a lower body lift in a bad way! I have been thinking about plastic surgery, but want to wait until after I hit my year mark( dec 1st ) my excess skin isnt real bad and I think I could live with it but my TTs thats another story they could use a lift and fluff, my gurls just aint been the same scince wls

Hi Karie. What an exciting part of your journey you are now embarking on! I WILL have plastic surgery but will wait until I get some more pounds off (about 43.5 to be exact!). I want my arms done, lower body lift (thigh lift if not included in the lbl) and a breast lift (no implants). I'm hoping to have my arms done first then the rest. Seeing that your appt is not until January, I may make an appt now with a few plastic surgeons so when I am ready to go I won't have to wait for an appt. When I am ready to go I don't want anything to stand in my way! I wish these 43.5 pounds would go away overnight so I can get ps now! Hey, the plastic surgeon's office may have a cancellation or two and you may be able to be seen before January. Good luck.

Good for you! I am waiting til after we have kids...no point in spending the $$ and then ruining it! But I do stand in the mirror and pull up my thighs and butt cheeks to see how nice and smooth it would look! But I have a minimum of 20 more lbs I want to lose before I consider being "done" with my weight loss. I have been a standstill for almost a month now and haven't noticed any significant changes....of course that is ALL entirely my fault for breaking all of the rules. But I am quite happy at the moment with the way I look in clothes...so the lack of motivation is there. There I go being ultra lazy again!
