My anniversary

Well, today is my 16th wedding anniversary and yet again I am by myself. My husband is in the National Guard and was activated for Hurricane duty. He is in New Orleans planning on going further south. He called me early this morning to tell me Happy Anniversary and that he loves me. I was very glad to hear from him. He rode out the storm down there. I have my anniversary present already and that is he is still state side and has no one shooting at him. He was in Desert Storm (the first one) and he left on our anniversary then. That was the hardest thing. We didn't have any children then and all I had to worry about was him and me. Now with 3 kids it is very different. Let me quit whinning and get things done around here. Got lots to do. Thanks for listening!! Rhonda

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Rhonda I am sorry to hear that DH is away today, but you are right...at last he is stateside. That should be comforting. My Mom was in desert storm and in Kuwait when they were rebuilding. Not the same at all I know, but I missed her very much and I was always worried for her. I hope the 2 of you are going to celebrate when he comes home. Something really special. Maybe you can think something fun up while he is gone that you might not have time to do if he was around. Hi Rhonda, I am from Louisiana also. About 2 hours north of you (Bastrop). I have a best friend in Pineville so I come there once in a blue moon. My adopted daughter and son's biological mom's buried there also so we go there 2 x per year. I am sorry you are spending your anniversary alone. I can not imagine all of the husbands and wives living without their spouses because they are serving our country (and state). I will pray for you and your family and keep you in my thoughts as well. ANyhow, it is nice to have a fellow Decemberite that lives so close. Keep in touch, maybe we can get together sometime. Where did you have your surgery? Staci
