Just had to share that today I broke 200 and weighed in at 199. This is a milestone that only you all can understand. I feel like screaming "YEAH!!!!" from the top of the Empire State Building. Tomorrow is my 9-month anniversary and so far I am down 148 pounds. This surgery and the associated weight loss has given me so much. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Awesome job good for you!! I can't wait to break that 200 lb. marker...I swear when that scale says 199 lbs. You all will be hearing my screams of joy. My doctor told me with this surgery I would only get to 220 lbs. But today I am at 217 lbs. and know I'll get to 199 lbs. soon enough. I am so happy for you!! Di~ 393/336/217/170

Thanks Di. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR IN THIS REGARD. He/she has no idea what they are saying. With exercise and low-calorie meals (and maybe a little help from the plastic surgeon), you can reach your goal. You are so close to "Onderland" and will get there before you know it. Prove your doctor wrong. Trust in yourself and keep up the great work. This is not easy - I exercise constantly and watch every crumb that goes into my mouth - but it's all worth it. You can do it!

I have said this before, but my doctor said before my surgery, "if you think you will lose more then 100lbs this surgery is not for you." I have lots more weight to lose then that, and I still have a way to go to get to 100, and those words echo in my mind all the time. I wish he hadn't said that. Seems to me lots of people lose over 100, so I don't knowwhy he said it.

I think maybe he just didn't want you to get your hopes up high? Not sure though and personally I think it's pretty crappy. I think you can lose what you want to lose - it just may take a while. I hope that you totally ignore your doctor in this regard and just focus on maximizing your weight loss and doing the best you can do. Most people I know and read about lose well over 100 pounds. I've lost 148 so far (another 49 to go), my mom lost over 160 pounds and many, many people on this website lose more than 100 pounds, a lot close to 200 pounds. So, yes, you can do it Allison. Just keep at it, and don't let his/her words bring you down. Good luck.

Congratulations Kim :cheer: We're all doing a happy !!!! You are doing an excellent job. My doctor too told me that I wouldn't lose any more than 100 pounds and to not expect it. I am -105 and am not stopping here... sometimes you just have to ignore the docs, they don't know EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! Staci

Thanks so much Staci. I appreciate your support and kind words. PLEASE IGNORE YOUR DOCTOR IN THIS REGARD. I just can't believe a doctor would say that - you should shoot for the stars and don't let anyone stand in your way. I don't know how much you need to lose to reach goal but I sincerely hope that you prove your doctor wrong (well, you already have with your 105 pound loss) and reach your goal. Good luck, and congratulations to you too on your awesome weight loss so far.
