Got toegther this weekend with family and of course when its been awhile since they have seen you they are like WOW you look great. However, how many of you when asked tell people what you currently weigh? I never told anyone except for my husband what my weight was prior to surgery and even today he is the only one I tell what my current weight is. Well, long story short some of my family were a little ticked b/c I would not share what I currently weigh...I tell them the total pounds lost I just feel the other infomation is personal. I mean, how many women just yell out what they weigh???? Karie -107 pounds

I NEVER tell anyone what I weighed or what I weigh now, only how much I have lost. I feel just like you do. That is what the bad thing about this surgery is. Everyone feels they have the right to know.

Thanks Allison, glad to see I was not the only one to feel this way. Karie

I NEVER tell anyone what I weighed or what I weigh, only what I have lost. No one has the right to ask that, and if they do, I have told them it's personal. They may be offended, but it's none of their business. Nona

Just like it was your personal choice to tell or not tell anyone about the surgery ~~ it's your personal choice to disclose or not disclose your facts of weight change. Your relatives should recognize and respect that. However, some family members (and others) feel like they just HAVE to know. LuvitsunnyV@goal

I don't think it is any of their business. I will tell them how much I have lost, what size I use to wear and what size I am in now. I think that is enough.......maybe when we are asked that we should say "you first"! I wonder how many people would tell us.....and tell us the truth!

To piggy-back on Nancy's answer, ask them what their BMI is, that'll really shut em' up. Seriously how many people do you know that have not had wls know what their BMI is? People can be so insensitive! Have a great day! Di~

I never tell how much I weigh. Even when I get down to a decent size will I never tell. It's rude of them to ask, even though you are family they owe you the same consideration as anyone else deserves. I have people ask how I did it. One of my dh's aunts cornered him till he told how I did it. That made me angry that she did that. I told him I wasn't mad at him cause he told, I was gonna tell anyone who asked but I wanted to tell them. I am mad at her for doing that to him. My SIL said he tried to get around it but she wouldn't let it go so he finally gave it up. I am pissed at her and I wished she had asked me instead of doing that to him.

I have no problem tellin people how much I have lost but when it come to the question of how much I weight/weighted I just tell them thats between me and Jesus and people respect that
