If it isn't one thing it's another!
Hi guys, just wanted to let you know I went for a follow-up visit with my gastric dr and now I have a hernia. Yep, in addition to the women problems, being anemic and the heel problem, now I have a hernia. He said it was small one but if I let it go it would get bigger, so back under the knife I go. I turned 42 on Sunday and you would think that I was falling apart. I am very thankful that at this point it is nothing life threatening so I am truly blessed. Hope everyone is doing well!
Jill
Hi there Jill, I am sorry you have hernia. Did you know you had it? When I had my stomach pains that is what they were looking for and did not find it.Does he want to operate on you in the future?I thought I needed surgery again ,buy I went home and then I stopped cooking with hot peppers and the gas and pains stopped.
You have made it through one journey. Now this one you will get through just fine. We are all here for you saying our prayers and hoping for you speedy recovery.. Jill I am well and pray you will be OK also... Keep in touch and let us know any changes.... Keep ...Lorraine
Hi Lorraine, Actually I didn't know that I had one. It's not very big so when the dr examined my incision that is when he found it. That's one of the reasons that I tell people all the time to go for follow ups and to keep in contact with your surgeon. It doesn't hurt but when you press on it you can feel it. I am having it repaired on Sept. 8. The recovery time isn't very long (just a few stictches) because it is just a small one at this point. I'm not really worried about it just tired of all of these procedures I am having to have lately. But at least none of them are life threatening. I believe that we are truly blessed to be healthy.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Jill
Bless you, Jill. I can sympathisize with needing to go back under the knife when more surgery is the last thing you want to do right now. I'm glad it's a small hernia and that you won't be laid up for long. Hopefully the rest of your problems are on the way to recovery too.
Happy belated birthday! Did you ever think that you would be where you are now on your 41st birthday? I'm still six months away from 42, but am actually kinda looking forward to it. I think I look forward to every milestone along my way now, just to compare how much better my life is now to the way things were before WLS. Even when I had the surgery to repair my arm, I was thinking that a year ago I probably would have lost the arm because I was not healthy enough to undergo 6+ hours of surgery. I am looking for, and seeing, the blessings God has given me in the everyday.
Best of Luck, and my prayers are with you.
