OK, I know what vitamins I am suppose to have but don't know when exactly to take them to get the most out of them. I take 2 Flintstones w/calcuim after breakfast and my Citracal at bedtime. I take a B12 shot every month so I don't have to worry about that. I am still loosing my hair and I just don't know if I am getting all the worth out of my vitamins. Is there any other vitamin that I can take for my hair or another vitamin I should be taking? Thanks a bunch. I know ya'll will have answers!! Rhonda

Hi there Rhonda, Your vitamin intake seems Ok to me. I take 1 multi in the morning,1 iron, tums for calcium, and I take biotin 5 mcg for the hair. It seems to be working. My hair is falling out less. I am 8 months post-op. I take B-12 shots also. I hope I was of help to you. Have a great day Lorraine

I take Flintstone w/iron daily, two or three, and the rest of my vitamins I get from food. My blood screens show everything is good, well within normal ranges. My hair, however, was so thin, I got sunburned everytime I was in the sun for any length of time. I tried Biotin, and although the hair is still thin, it isn't falling out as much and what I have is thicker. I am told it will stop falling out and grow back at about 9 or 10 months out. You can get biotin at Wal-mart for under $3.00 a bottle for a months supply. But it will work on nails and skin as well, as it did with mine. Made my nails grow like crazy. And I wear acrylics. Not fun, but it is finally working on the hair. Nona

The only thing I was told to take was 1 prenatal vitamin a day. I take it every night before I go to bed. At 6 months I had my labs done and everything was way above normal. I do have the hair falling out still but not as bad. Someone on the board mentioned to look for new growths on your head...I did find them! I think I will try the Biotin that you guys mentioned. Rhonda, I think you are taking enough.....you guys all are taking more vitamins than me. Karie -98....and still holding!!!!

Hi Rhonda! I take two multivitamins a day one in the morning and one in the evening. I also take Calcium citrate...not carbonate b/c we aren't supposed to absorb it as easily as the citrate. I take B12 once a week...1000mg a week is what my doctor says to take. My hair is not falling out nearly as much as it was before. I have lots of new sprouts but I know that if I upped my protein more it would stop sooner (or so I have been told). How is your protein intake? All the best to you! ~Rachel

Hello, I was told to switch to a regular (Adult) vitamin after a couple of months. I try to get the capsule type as it disolves better and I think we absorb it better. GNC makes a good capsule type vitamin, you may want to try that. I also take Iron, B-12 Sublingually 1000 micrograms per day, Viactive for calcium as it contains D & K to help you absorb it and the small amount of sugar is not a problem. My hair loss stopped a month or two ago. Make certain that you are getting in your protein, THAT is what will help the hair loss. Hope this helps. Tracy
