8-Month Anniversary Today - Down 134 Pounds
Today is my 8th month anniversary and I weighed in at 213 pounds this morning bringing my weight loss total to 134 pounds since 12/12/03. I lost an amazing 15 pounds this month, yeah! Life is so grand - I feel just wonderful. Food is still a struggle and something I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life but every day I feel more and more in control. And I love to exercise - I get really crabby when I don't get enough exercise every day. Hope everyone is doing good and I hope you all have a successful weight loss month.
Thanks Nona. You are doing great too. My only advice is to drink lots of water, exercise a lot and keep your calories low, not too low, anywhere from 800-1000. I also trick my body. One day I'll do heavy exercise (2 hours) then the next day light, and so on. In addition to scheduled exercise I walk at least 10,000 steps a day (have my counter on all day long!). I also trick my body with different foods and meals. Every few days I have carbs (a little pasta or rice or potatoes) then the next few days I do totally low carb. Same thing with meals. Some days I have 1 meal and 2 protein shakes and others I have 2 meals and 1 protein shake. I also do not snack, for the most part. Sometimes I will have a piece of cheese, a few chips (bad, I know), popcorn but for the most part it's just 3 meals a day (I substitute my protein shakes for meals).
Hang in there, I know the plateaus and stalls must be frustrating. I started out pretty high, 347, and I'm still "obese" 8 months later and still have another 66-68 pounds to lose. I'm just trying to be patient and take one day at a time.
Shake things up a bit - it can't hurt and it very well may help.
Good luck.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Dear Happy Gal, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU!!!!!
134 lbs gone! That is fantastic I admire your exercise routines. I really struggle to get mine done and don't always succeed.
Congratulations to you....before you know it you will be at goal
Hugs, Kimberly
Thank you so much Kimberly, that's really sweet of you. You have done very well yourself. As to the exercise, start out small then gradually add more in your routine. You don't want to get bored or overwhelmed. Be sure that you are getting at least 10,000 steps a day (get a counter if you don't have one) and then do some major cardio a few times a week. I bet you'll get these few last pounds off. Take care, and have a good month!
