Lost too much weight

My surgeon advises me that I have lost too much weight. I feel great and am very active. My family tells me that this is where I should be because this is what I looked like when I was younger. I do not want to loose any more weight. I am eating protein bars, protein in general. I am 9 months post-op and my body still cannot handle sugars. I think this is why I have lost weight so fast. Any thoughts out there?

how much have you lost exactly? height/weight well just up your calories.... figure out what you need caloric intake wise to maintain and eat more snacks to stabilize your weight. I think there are websites that help you calculate the right amount. my tanita scale tells me every morning.... i still have a good 20-30 lbs easily to go so I haven't tried maintaining yet.. if you are working out a lot you will need to add more calories to offset that amt you burn as well. post on the main board and get suggestions/help from others in your situation congrats on making it to goal! even if you aren't eating sugars there are still carbs out there that should add calories without causing your problems. Fortunately or Unfortunately I don't have problems with any foods...just a smidge of lactose intolerance on certain dairy foods (not all)

I was 5'7 @ 245. Not only have I lost 1 1/2 sizes in my shoes but I went from a size 20-22 dress to a loose fitting 8. Depends on the designer. I have 6's that fix a bit loose, also. I am now 5'6" at 138. I love fruits, meats, veggies...and can handle a crouissant daily. When I eat; however, I break out into a "hot flash" and stop until I cool down. I can then finish my meal. I can eat pretty much anything...but just small amounts. Absolutely no jellies (with processed sugars), no breads (other than a crouissant)....I have discovered SPLENDA and that is wonderful. I do take a bite here and there of the birthday cakes here at work. I am having bloodwork done at my primary doctor's office next week and the the week of the 16th, I go in for post-op check-up. Like I said...I feel great. I was on a workout program with a trainer...but have halted it because I threw out my right rotator cup muscle. Then a couple of weeks ago, I had a calcium deposit on my shoulder. That was painfully removed by an orthopedic surgeon in his office by flushing it with a couple of needles and now....now, I threw out my right shoulder again by playing beach volleyball over the weekend. It's hard keeping me down. It's like I want to play catch-up from all the years I was "FAT". But....we'll see what the bloodwork says and what the surgeon says.

My bloodwork is great. I am now learning to pay no attention to the negatives and the jealousy..... there is plenty of that around. Just go by how you feel...Lorraine

Hello Marie I also started at 245, but at 5'4". Next Monday will be my 8 month anniversary and I am down to 137. Today I went shopping and bought size 6's I understand that we loose for up to 18 months. And I do worry sometimes about loosing too much. I am still loosing about 6lbs per month. I know what to do to slow things down, drink w/meals, snack more often on good things, but I am soooo afraid to get into bad habits that got me MO in the 1st place. As far a sugar...I don't dump and find it easy to sneak a bit of goodies here and there. Hang in there and let us know what you find out from your Dr. All the best to you Kimberly 245/137/??

Losing too much has been somewhat of a concern to me, too. My surgeon says that I have lost fast and even though at six months I was at goal (134) I would probably lose another 10-12 pounds before stabilizing. I'm now at 128. I'm wearing 4's. (I'm 5'5") To date I've lost 98#. I lost 6# this last month. I can tolerate a little sugar but I have no desire for it. I still cannot tolerate bread, pasta and rice -- the "white" trio. I still exercise quite a bit, too. LuvitsunnyV

I, too, have no desire for sugar. My co-workers bring in donuts and all sorts of goodies, but I just don't want them. I do, however, miss chocolate. I have discovered reeses made with SPLENDA and it is good. I have cut down on the exercise...but I really enjoyed power walking..but was using up too many calories...so I have stopped until I get my bloodwork back. Right after my surgery, I got really sick. I had a nurse come to my home twice a week. They said that everything was fine and didn't understand why I wasn't recovering. To this date, we still don't know why it took about 3 months. I am great, now...and am glad I had the surgery...but it was touch and go for a while. There are several people at work here that has had the surgery. One was in a coma for a couple of months, there was a monther/daughter that had it and they were painting bedroom walls two weeks post-op. One lady had the lap-band surgery. I am the only one that actually looks "thin". By the way, you look great in your pic. Take care. T.
