Our questions of the day are getting fewer and fewer! I have a wuestion for all my Dec buddies. Do you guys supplement with protein shakes, or get all your protein from meals??? The reason I ask this is because I was using protein shakes for the first 4-5 months and the weight was coming off good.....I got to relaxed and slacked on the protein shakes and tryed to get all of my protein from my food.....weightloss slowed WAY down...I thought about it and added the shakes back into my diet recently and again the weight is coming off, I am down to 177 Anyways I am wondering if yall use shakes and if you think your weight is coming off faster with them???? Take Care Jesi

I did the same as you and realized I could not get all the protein I needed from regular meals and I was not losing as well. I am back on the shakes daily for one meal for about the last month and a half or so and the weight is coming off again too. I also increased my work-outs by 10 mins. So yes, I think the weight comes off faster with the shakes. Good job on your weight loss Jesi! Peace, Di~

I was doing a daily shake at work M-F up until beginning of May and then I got stressed with the whole work/school thing and quit doing it. I also stopped doing my water as good around that time so it could have been a number of things I don't love doing the shakes and find it much easier to grab a protein bar on the run so lately I have a daily bar. I use EAS or Sci Fit and I have another one I really like but can't remember the name right now. I occasionally make a yoghurt smoothie using Any Whey and frozen strawberries and whatever flavor of light yoghurt I grab out of the fridge. I keep chocolate protein shake on hand for those occasions when I have time or crave a shake. I get about 45 grams of protein from my meals so I need to add at least 15 more grams to my daily input.

Jesi, I usually post QOD but I have not been feeling so well. I just came out of the hospital on Saturday. Anyway an answer to your question. It depends on my day and how I feel. I am just beginning to digest meat so I do most of the time drink 40 mg of protein from my Atkins Advantage drink. That is 2 drinks. I am not good at getting my liquids in but when I do concentrate on it my weight loss is much better. My usual amount of protein taken in is 20mg from 1 drink then the rest from food. The protein drinks tend to fill me and they probably fill you also so you tend to eat less. Just keep up the good work ok? I have just gotten to the "century club". I am now weighing 145 lbs from 245lbs.The weight is coming off slower but that is OK with me. I only have about 10 more pds to my drs "IDEAL GOAL" Lets just keep till we get to the end of this journey.... "REMEMBER THE WATER" LORRAINE

Hi Jesi! I absolutely cannot get enough protein from food, so I drink at least one Nectar protein drink a day. (I usually mix in a dose of citrucel to one of them, also.) Not only do I find that the weight comes off better when I do drink my protein, but I keep hearing from my physical therapist that I am healing unusually quickly from my recent surgery. Now if I could just be as good about taking my vitamins.... Deb

I knew that if I was ever going to get to the 60g of protein that is recommended by my surgeron...I knew that I would have to drink a shake. I just have it for breakfast and "eat" my other two meals. I am really doing much better with my water...and the weight is started to fall off again!! ~Rachel

I'm getting 60-75 of protein thru my diet alone and I'm at goal and still losing -- much slower. If I wasn't at goal - I'd be drinking the protein shakes again. Luvitsunnyv
