Home from hospital.....and HAPPY!
Hi there guys, I am sorry I have not posted..... On Wednesday afternoon I started to get very bad back pains and stomach pains. I was panicky. All I could think about was something has gone wrong with my new pouch.. I was so scared I had these pains on and off until Wednesday. I worked like this and just tried my best to control the pain. Most of it seemed to be in my back. I do have 2 herniated discs and bulging discs also. By Wednesday night I could not stand the pain anymore . I left my car at work and got on 2 subways to get to my Bariactric surgeon. I figured if something went wrong with my WLS I had to go the my surgeon. I cried on the subway all the way there in pain. This trip there took me one hour and half. I went straight to ER and was admitted. They did a cat scan..... NOTHING showed.... The next day I had a barium swallow. Upper GI series... and an endoscopy... All showed nothing. All my bloods were great. They gave me pain medicine for the back pain.. the stomach pain subsided. The DR said that if he took me back to OR and had to open me up...NOt laproscopic this time he might find nothing also.
He told me to start drinking more water , that the tests showed I am FOS as we use in Hospital terms ...Full of ****" . I am sorry to be so graphic. He also thought the pains were just muscle spasms...I am so glad it had nothing to do with my WLS. I would have died to think of going back to the OR again....
THE GREAT NEW IS NOW THAT I HAVE COME HOME TO WEIGH MYSELF ,GET READY I said I would shout it out...".CENTURY CLUB TIME" WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have finally made it. I am officially down 100 pds. Here are the stats:

Good to hear you are alright!!!! Since I have had this surgery, I worry about every little ache and pain......I also worry if I am not having regualr BM's........It is crazy!!!! I have turned into a worry wart, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry, and we did totally alter our bodies Congrats on the Century Club It is great isn't it?? You are doing awesome, keep up the good work!! Jesi
Glad your trip was not of the surgery kind. Constipaton is no laughing matter. I suffer from it every day. So, what I found works for me is taking Fiber Choice every day, and once or twice a week a dose of MOM. I do fine now.
CONGRATS on the century club. Feels good, doesn't it? Makes one feel that have accomplished something. Enjoy your new body.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! on your century club!!!!! It IS too bad we weren't in the same hospital I could have used some more visitors of the un-nurse and Dr. kind I too am glad you didn't require any surgery. It is always best to be conscious of our owwies and get to the Dr.
Glad that you are back and hope you are enjoying your weekend. I am still laid out on meds and in pain, but I am sure I will be feeling better by next weekend. HUGS

Not long after surgery I had terrible pain. I waited 24 hours and then called the doctor and he said he bet I was constipated and told me to take MoM and if I wasn't better the next day to call him again. My whole life I have had trouble with constipation. After that, I was really scared about it. It really hurt me. I was taking MoM every other day. Now I take 2 tablespoons of flax (measured before I ground it) and I haven't needed MoM since.
I too am scared about every little pain. I guess we always think about all the stories we have read and we don't want something to go wrong and we ignore it.
The CENTURY CLUB! That is ...I can't even imagine how I will feel when I get there! (I am planning on it some day!)
Congratulations and I am so glad you are feeling better.
I'm so glad you're doing better and didn't need surgery. I've recently been told to add a daily dose of Citrucel to my list of supplements and vitamins. It only makes sense, since the one thing I know I'm not getting enough of in my diet is fiber. I wonder why this isn't stressed more?
Congrats on the Century Club. I still have 11 pounds to go to make a Century since my pre-op weight. I know I'll get there.

Lorraine-
Glad to hear everything ended up OK. And, I'm like many others, every ache, every pain, every little twinge, I'm ready to have my surgeon pulled out of bed at 3 in the morning! There is so much that can go wrong with our surgeries, I think its a normal reaction and we are all still pretty new to this. And, we are all told (if we had good drs) to watch for so much, I think we tend to panic.
As for bathroom visits, if I don't go every day, I'm in a tizzy! Thank goodness, I usually do. Who would have ever thought we'd all pay so much attention to that?????
Again, glad to hear all is okay now. Take it easy and WAY TO GO ON THE CENTURY CLUB!! That is something to be very proud of and you should shout it at the top of you lungs!! That is a big accomplishment!!

Hello Sweety,
SO glad to see that you are feeling better. I had a few episodes with SEVERE pain that I went to the ER for and NOTHING showed up but after two days and some good ole M.O.M. The pain went away. I think it was an intestinal blockage. Who knows, you know you were in pain for a reason, you are not FOS! Glad to also hear that you hit the century club! Your new photo is great! You look Maaahhhvelous Daaahhling! Keep up the great work! Tracy
That's awesome Lorraine! Congrat's on "The Century Club." I just realized today that i've made it there myself. You're doing a great job. ^5's.
Glad that you had no problems when you went to the hospital. I have to have a CT scan tomorrow myself, but I don't think my problems are WLS related. My pain, which started about 5 month's ago, and has been almost constant for a month now, is located in the lower right pelvic region. I am guessing just a cyst, but I guess i'll see. I'm actually not too worried about it. But i've never bene one to let thing's worry me, until I have a solid reason for them to.
Keep up the good work!!!
