Good Saturday Morning, Everyone
Hi, Friends
I do believe my week from hell has finally ended. As you may remember, last Thursday night I was released from the hospital after having surgery to plate my arm (and a bone graft.) Friday I started developing phlebitis in my left leg, got another one in my right leg on Saturday, and then Godzilla the hemorroid appeared on Sunday.
Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, the right leg is fine now, the left leg looks a little nasty, but rarely hurts at all, and Godzilla has been evicted (ouch, that was fun). Thanks to my wonderful physical therapist, and a little bit of home work, too, I am regaining the range of motion in the left arm much more rapidly than I would have hoped. I even have more motion in the shoulder than I did before I re-broke the arm last month! Even the pain from where they took the bone graft is almost gone.
Finally, I have lost the 11 pounds I gained with the surgery, and they took 2 friends with them. My ortho wants me to stabilize my weight while the arm heals, and I'm doing my best. But I really can't see any purpose in making poor choices just in increase calories. I am getting 100 grams of protein and taking my vitamins (and Citrucel, I really don't want a repeat visit from 'Zilla). I tried adding some Ensure Plus, but dumped. All I can do is continue to eat the best I can. If any of you have any ideas on how to STOP losing weight (without sabotaging myself), I'm willing to listen.
Thanks always for being here with your support,
Deb
