I'm back from St. Louis, and so glad I went. Even though the trip took a lot out of me, and I missed the evening events because I was so tired, the trip was SO worth it. It is amazing how much energy it takes to haul the ole broken arm around with me I highly recommend that everyone attend one (or more) or these meetings when they come to your area. Spending a day with other people who share our unique situations is so uplifting. I'm all set for my surgery tomorrow to put my arm back together. I'm more worried about this procedure than I was about my RNY. I believe that this is because I had so much more information about what to expect with the RNY than I do with this. Anyone out there ever had a rod put in their arm and a bone graft taken from the hip? I haven't been able to find any good information about the procedure on the internet, and my surgeon hasn't told me much about the post-op period other than I'll be off work for 4-6 weeks and no riding for 8-12 weeks. Now I'm wondering about how much pain there will be, what will I be able to do, what about getting up and walking right away in the hospital? I'm trying not to turn myself into a basket case, but I don't know anyone who has had this done that I can ask questions. I'm so glad that OH is there for us when we had our WLS. If I'm feeling good, and can get dh to smuggle my laptop into the hospital, I'll let you know how it went as soon as I can type. Have a good week, Deb
