Stalls and Slowdowns!
Please give some ideas of what you all do when the scale stalls or slows down? I started on 12-8 at 281.5 and 7 months later, I am at 172 and STALLED and SLOWING DOWN! Doing all the right things but the scale stalls just the same! The body must adjust...... but give me a break! Mind games with a scale are no longer my thing. I feel I need to weigh every am for reinforcement but hoped to be a little closer to goal by now. I know as long as I follow the, "rules", I'll get there. Thanks for sharing.
You probably don't want to hear this, but you're normal. I think we have all had periods where the weight loss has slowed down and/or stalled, but then it picks back up again.
For what it's worth, my advice would be to take a close look at what you're eating, increase your protein, and hide the scale for a week. Just speaking for myself, if I weigh myself more than once a week, the normal daily fluctuations are enough to make me crazy! Down a pound, up a pound, no change...seeing it every day tends to make me obsess with the number instead of the behavior changes I need to make in order to stay successful.
Hope you start seeing a change again soon, Deb
Yep, I'm afraid it is an inevitable part of the process for most of us. I have stalled more of the last 2 months than I have lost...but still managed a 12 lb. loss last month and an 8 lb. loss so far this month with 6 days to go. Yes, it is very, very frustrating. What I'm trying to do though is ENJOY where I'm at. I get compliments every day. I feel good. I can buy clothes....and enjoy doing it. I'm off all kinds of meds. I have my life back....so I try hard not to obsess about the slow losses and ENJOY where I'm at.....that's the best advice I have to offer.
