I post for my son. It is his 6 month anniversary today. He went to a shooting range to celebrate. He had never shot a gun before. I have watched my handsom 22 year old go from being 365 pounds to 240 pounds. He wears "normal" clothes now but is waiting until he goes back to college this fall to get new ones. He was on 6 meds for high blood pressure. Now he isn't on any, woo hoo!!! He works 10-12 hour days at 6 Flags which is something he never could have done 6 months ago. BTW I am down 85 pounds since Oct. This surgery has given me and my son new lives. No regrets!!! Karen

Hi there Karen and Phil, Congrads to both of you guys. My daughter had Gastric Bypass done on Oct 31,200. She was 350 lbs. She lost 120 lbs and never got near her goal. At the present she has regained most of her weight back. I can't talk to her about it so that makes it very hard. .This is a very touchy subject to her. I had my surgery on Dec 15th 2003. I started at 245 lbs and now I am weighing 153 LBS "AT GOAL". Best of Luck to both of you guys. enjoy life now I know I am >Lorraine

Lorraine, That is so scary to me. I am so afraid for me or my son to gain back our weight. How old was your daughter when she had it done? The year on your message is messed up. What year did she have it done? My father, aunt, and 3 sisters had it done too. They are all staying at goal so far. It has been many years for some of them. Most of the time they all eat what they want, just in moderation. The ones who are the thinnest exercise. Two of my sisters are hovering at 170 pounds which to them isn't too bad. They are both 5'8". I know you must be sad about your daughter, but she is an adult and has to make up her own mind. My son is very active right now, and probably will be for a few years. He is in college for most of the year and in the summer works very hard. I am praying those few years get him started on a new life style of being busy and fit. Good luck to you. Karen

Hi there Karen, The year my daughter had her surgery was Oct 31,2000. In one year she lost 130 lbs. Yes I am very sad for her. She is a waitress also in the evenings at Red Lobster so I know that is tempting also. She was 22 when she had the surgery Take care again, Keep up the good work to your success. .............Lorraine
