Vitamin Problem
Are you taking them on an empty stomach? That would definitely make you sick!
Make sure you have something solid in your tummy. Then take them over a 15 to 30 minute period, if possible. Allow time in between for each to pass down into your pouch. Try to swallow just enough water to get them down. Too much water mixed with a bulk of vitamins will make you nauseous.
The fiber may be a bit too much to take with your vitamins. Try taking it separately, a little later on. Maybe right before you go to bed.
Congratulations for being so committed to your vitamins!
Good luck! Hope this helps!

I was advised this order
Multi Vitamin (without IRON ) and Calcium Supplement
which I take with my breakfast
mid morning B 12 sublingual
after lunch if you want take a ZINC
late afternoon I take IRON and Vitamin C
before bed I take my 2nd Multi Vitamin and Calcium
I am using Flintstone's Chewables (without iron b/c too much was causing constipation) and I am using Alka Mints for my Calcium. YES I know all about how Citrate is supposed to be better but I can't get down those horse pills NO matter what I try. And my DR is fine with the carbonate...Until test results come back with deficiencies I am not changing it!
The ONLY thing our body doesn't aborb in some fashion by eating is B12 because it can't get to that Intrinsic Factor in our lower stomach. Otherwise despite our malabsorption of food --we are taking in SOMETHING here and there! (or the doctor's/nutritionists have been lying to me!)
Hey Julie,
I take my Vitamic C w/Iron (Shacklee) first thing in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. They are chewable and I drink a small amout of water while I'm putting my face on. I take just a small amount of water because they tend to make you mouth so dry. Completely absorb all the saliva and then some. At breakfast I take my AM packet of Vista Vitamins, you can get them at the Bariatriceating.com website (they have lots of other wonderful items for the bariatric individual) & they are formulated specifically for folks like us. I also take TwinLab Calcium Citrate throughout the day. These are also chewable and don't want to make you gag with the taste, and then I take my PM packet of Vista Vitamins with my evening meal. I don't remember it always, but I try to take my B-12 first thing in the morning on the weekends on an empty stomach. Not had the first problem with stomach upset and I'm 6 mos post op.
Good Luck !!
