FEELING SO GUILTY HERE
Hi there guys, I am hoping to find all of you great. I have to talk to you guys for a bit of support. I have been basically doing well on my journey here since 12/15/03. I have lost -92 pds and feel great.
Well last night I did a bad thing. I found a BUTTERFINGER BAR in my freezer. Yes..................I ate it. I felt a bit sick but just had to have it. Can anyone please feel what I was feeling. I just feel so guilty today. I am human and I don't know what came over me. This is the first time I ate the whole candy bar. I would just take a bite of my daughters if she brings it in the house. I am on track again today but just don't know what came over me. Lorraine
DO you normally refrain or deny yourself "treats" candy bars, chips etc...
IF so....maybe you should allow yourself several times a week a bite or two.
I don't feel deprived b/c I dont deny myself "bad" foods. I keep within my calorie limits BUT I have a bite or two of whatever it is I want/crave.
SO I don't go hog wild down the road.
I have LOW CARB candy bars I keep on hand....I get my chocolate fix without getting sick
I don't feel guilty. I don't go crazy and eat an entire X
SO bottom line--- don't beat yourself up over this! YOU are HUMAN! obviously we aren't going to change YEARS of habits overnight just because our stomach got smaller. You don't wake up a mentally new person and my doctor said it would start getting harder as the months go on and our cravings come back etc.... (mine never went away)
Boy, can I relate. I keep a jar of chocolates on my desk for whomever comes in for a tidbit and a chat, but I don't dare eat just one. ONe causes me to dump, and I want a piece of chocolate so badly, but even the sugar free ones make me sick. Sometimes the craving for the chocolate makes me almost willing to 'dump', but just almost.
I'm glad you didn't get sick, but don't think about the candy. Just concentrate on what a good job you've done so far, and pick up where you left off. You will be fine.

Good Morning, Lorraine!
I have to echo Jill and Shannon. We are all human beings here, and aren't going to be perfect. I also don't deprive myself completely of the "bad" foods, and find that a forkfull will satisfy the craving. For me, it's when I tell myself I can NEVER have something that I'll go crazy and make myself sick.
What came over you? Temptation, Cravings, Tired.... that's Life! You're back on track, and that's what matters.

Oh, Lorraine, don't feel bad. We (I) had this surgery to be normal. To eat like a normal, thin person. Prior to surgery I would have eaten more than 1 candy bar and I could never understand how people could be satisfied and stop with one. Now, I do eat a very small amount of what I want and stop. I do not dump. I have eaten 1/2 of a small Dairy Queen Ice cream cone. Before I would have eaten a large Blizzard without a second thought.
Don't worry about that one candy bar. Today is a new day. You have done so well and it will not set you back. Its okay to have a treat now and then. Just as long as the good choices outweigh the bad.
Congratulations on your awesome success!!!!~Kimberly
