Happy Holidays to all!
Hi there to all my friends here
I am upstate N.Y. and enjoying myself. As you can see I love this website and its support I get.
I hope everyone enjoys the holidays.I did not make a wise food choice.I ate meat which I know is very hard for me to digest. I can eat chicken salad, turkey salad, tuna salad and chop meat in sauces. I can't eat meat alone,
My girlfriend had a barbeque going when I got here. Do I need to say more I had a piece of chicken leg and...... . I don't know why I just can't digest it. After an hour or so I decided just to have my protein drink and a cup of tea.
I guess meat and I can't get along well for now. Tomorrow is the big barbeque and I will stand clear of meat. I will eat salads .
Any of you December guys have this trouble? Am I the only one who cant digest meat alone without sauce?
Everybody have a good holiday... Lorraine
I can eat slivered ham and chicken but often wrap it around a stacker pickle to give it a little more "moisture." I pretty much need something else to make the meat work...sauce or something. I can do hamburger pretty well....crumbled or a patty. I haven't gotten sick for a long time but last time I did, it was on roast beef. I don't envision trying that again without gravy or something....way too dry. I have really become less of a meat eater since surgery. I prefer cheese, cottage cheese, sunflower nuts, etc. for my protein. Happy Holiday to you too Lorraine!

Don't feel alone girls. I can't do meat at all, so I've proclaimed myself a semi-vegetarian (I can eat seafood and some bacon). I had a 1/4 of BLT last night from Sonic and I have to say that was the best thing I've put in my mouth in months!!! I know it wasn't a healthy choice but I had been craving one. I was born and raised in the south and that was a staple in our home as my parents grew their own vegetables and raised cattle and hogs for meat.
I am having trouble with the protein shakes. They are so nasty. I also tried the clear Metamucil to help with the constipation and I gagged on that. It made my juice so thick and syrupy! YUK!
Any suggestions of what kind of protein shakes to get that are lactose free?
Have a great Memorial Day and don't forget to take a moment to pay your respects to those that have died defending our country!
Stay away from the BBQ- don't want to be sick on your fun day! I'll be with the kids at play practice and then laying by the pool.
