Hi there to all my December guys and gals and anyone *****ads this. What are your Memorial Day plans? Most of you were post-op last year and probably.... I know I did ,eat like a horse at the barbeque you attended. How will you handle it this year? I know there will be lots of food what will you make? Will you be with family? I know this is a bit of torture for me is gatherings like this hard for you guys as it is me? Have a good holiday and enjoy.... My plans are to be with family this weekend. I have 5 days off. I will try my best to handle it. I think I will just go with the flow and try not to concentrate on the eating part. It's definetly an issue for me. BIG PARTYS. I will be making some seafood salad with crabmeat and macaroni. I know if there is not much there to eat that will sit just fine. Yes I will be my with family,we have a great time when we gather. Gatherings like this are hard for me . Food is everywhere. I will make the best of it. Have a good holiday all.... Lorraine

We will probably go to my husband's alumni banquet sun. night which we haven't gone to for a few years. I didn't want to in recent years due to my weight and all his friends seeing me.....now, I'm pretty excited to go. It will be pot-luck but that doesn't bother me anymore (or should I say, "at the moment"). I've been to several pot-lucks since surgery and I don't seem to have much trouble making good choices....it is fun to have some variety as what I eat at home is usually not that exciting. Otherwise, no big plans. I'm not a "lake" person and I'm just hoping that by tonight or tomorrow I'll feel good enough from my recent minor surgery that I'll be able to get my walk in.....I just want the simple things in life...and a walk is toward the top of that list!! Jenni -90 (up a pound today....seem to be retaining fluid since surgery)

I don't have any specific plans for Memorial Day, but will probably take the mare out for a trail ride. The husband will be golfing on Monday, so I get to do anything I want. Tomorrow is the big horse trail clearing day. Great time getting together with other horse people in the sunshine (we hope), and getting the trails all ready for the season. Everything with this group includes food, and usually alcohol, but it doesn't seem to bother me. I have my spoonful of this and sip of that, and I'm happy. Otherwise, I guess it's back to the spring cleaning. It sure would be nice to get it done sometime before the 4th of July. Have a wonderful and safe weekend, Deb

Hello All- My plans are to visit with my brother and his family. He is coming home to visit. I haven't seen him since last August and I can't wait to see his reaction (hopefully its good). I usually don't have a problem with gatherings. I find something to eat. I do have to make macaroni salad. The only problem I run into sometimes is the "why can't you eat this" and "why can't you eat that." I just say, I can eat whatever I want, its what I now chose to eat. My mother, god love her, can tend to be a little nosey with her comments of "should you be eating that?" Sometimes I feel like everyone is watching me eat- what, how much, etc. Hope to take a ride with my husband on the motorcycle. Now that my bumm is smaller we can enjoy rides on the motorcyle Hopefully get my flowers planted and some exercise too! Hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable weekend! Kathy

Hi all! I really don't have any Memorial Day plans, but today is my daughter, Sydney's 9th birthday party. We are having a luau complete with lei's, hula skirts and the works. That should be pretty fun. My hubby has to work Memorial Day so I guess me and the kids will just hang out and maybe lay by the pool. We are leaving Wed. to go on vacation before I start summer school full force. No plans to BBQ, I don't do meat since the surgery, so that is not a huge sacrifice for me. Its the potato salad and banana pudding that I want. I too feel everyone is watching how much and what I am eating. I sometimes feel I am under a microscope. That is why when most people ask what my secret to losing weight was, I usually reply with "I just don't eat very much at all anymore". Not that I am ashamed, because I am not- the WLS is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I just hate all the tons of questions after I tell someone. It gets tiring telling the same thing over and over. Have a great holiday everyone. Make good food choices and enjoy your new bodies!!! Staci
