Hey Tracy- I know I was one who posted that made it too 100 pounds down. BUT, I started out much higher and you shouldn't compare yourself to people who need to lose more because we aren't the same. Look at men- they lose alot quicker and faster than we do. I did hit a plateau big time around the 70 lb mark and it took 2-3 weeks before I finally broke it. Could you be weighing yourself too much??? I was obsessed with the scale and now, I just get on there once or twice a week. You have done something so brave and come so far to let the last couple days bring you down. And, check into that anti-depressant- maybe now that you are much smaller and slender- it needs adjusted or a different one. Try something different- a different exercise and maybe a little more and a little more protein and cut back on any carbs and maybe that will help jumpstart. Maybe not be so strict on yourself and adjust the goals you set for yourself. Keep you chin up and remember the miracle and gift you were given! We all depend on you for your sunshiney face and uplifting posts! Take care, Kathy ps- tomorrow is a new day- don't beat yourself up today!

Hello all, Thank you so much for posting and trying to cheer me up! I really needed the support and I got it from a bunch of wonderful people! Today things seem a little brighter! Scale still is not moving, but I think the anti-depressant finally kicked in! Thanks again to everyone who posted!!! I REALLY appreciate the support! Tracy

My 5th month anniversary is on the 30th and so far this month I have only lost 4 lbs. so I am right there with you. I refuse to drink even my coffee until I have drank my 64oz of water (with light cranberry juice). I drink one protein drink and I only eat 3 times a day (all I can handle) and I rarely have a snack at night. I work out 3 times a week and walk as much as I can (what schedule allows). So what is wrong? I have decided that if I dweel (sp) on it, it just makes me more bummed and that just doesn't change what my body is doing. So it isn't worth it. I just try to keep in mind that if I wouldn't have had surgery, there would have been no way that would have lost 61 lbs in 4 1/2 months. So I look at it as that I should be happy with how I am doing and not worry so much on the quickness of it. Grant you, I wi**** would come off faster, but I am still having a blast shopping at regular stores now instead of specialty shops. So I am having a ball with my new energy, new outlook, and new changing body and mind. Chris 354/293/???

Hi Tracy, You aren't the slowest loser! I had my surgery on 12/19 and I have lost 70 lbs. I know some people have lost 100 but we aren't some people. We are individuals, with our very own set of cir****tances, and bodies. We are way ahead of where we were when we had the WLS and where we would be now without it. Cheer up!! As long as we keep doing what we are supposed to be doing our bodies will do the rest. No amount of jumping on and off the scale, combination of juices or teas, is going to make our bodies give up more weight than they are ready to , at any given moment. It's only been 5 months. Be a little more patient. We are gooing to get there, and if we lose slower, and learn while we are losing, the odds are that we will be able to keep it off. That is going to be the most important part. Maintaining after our bodies are finished with the losing part is.The dte that we officially get there isn't nearly as important in the scheme of things. Blessings, Maureen

~~Remember, you are still losing. It may be a little slower than you would like but it is still better than the alternative. Hang in and one morning you will step on those scales or measure those hips and find you are one amazing shrinking woman!

Hey, I am another one in the 70's.. I hit 75 lbs lost today (it's my 1/2 way point) seems like a lot of us Dec 03's are in that 70 to 80 lb range, we're right on track. Yeah some have lost faster, but I look at it this way, I am not having the sagging skin issues some people I know are, so if losing a bit slower helps my skin shrink back, it's not that bad!

I'm right there with you. No matter what I do I am stalled. I'm losing maybe 7 pounds a month. I've only lost 68 pounds total. I work out I eat right and I obsess with the scales. I drink all the water I am supposed to and still I remain a slow loser. But hey we are losing. Slowly yes but losing. Your not alone. I get so angry I want to pick up the scales and smash them but maybe soon something will happen. Hang on. we are in this for the long haul. Lisa
