It's Funny What they notice!

Good morning Decemberites, My son, who is 20, doesn't notice ANYTHING. What do I expect? He s a man now! I have asked him in the past a couple of times, How I look? or Do I look skinnier? He just says that I look the same! (GRRR) Anyway, yesterday we were in my car and he was riding shotgun. He looks over at me and says, "Wow mom! You are getting skinny! Your belly doesn't touch the steering wheel anymore!" I pointed out that it has not touched the steering wheel for months. (It is now about 4-5" away from the steering wheel) I just thought this was funny. It took him so long to notice that one little thing (one of the first things that I noticed) but at least he is noticing now! Tracy

Hi there Tracy, That is so cute. These kids are in their own world arent they. My daughter is very negative and also jealous and says nothing to make me feel like I lost 5 pounds let alone 85. I have alot of support from family and friends though. I am glad you son as woke up and smelled the coffee. You must remember when someone sees you every day its hard for them to notice... My kids (boys, ages 11 & 13) don't say much. But they do suggest that certain people ought to have "your surgery." Fortunately, they are smart enough to not say that anywhere but privately out of the earshot of others! Jenni

I have 5 boys and they don't say much either. The other day one said, "Wow, I can hug you all the way around now." Two of them notice new clothes and compliment me. It's sweet when they do. My only daughter likes the new clothes I get and can't wait until we are the same size. Karen
