Q.O.D. 5/7

Hi All, It's Fabulous Friday!! I've never posted the question of the day but thought this would be a fun one. With the summer months coming... What is your and/or your family's vacation plans? Do you plan on doing anything differently this year (that you would not have done in the past)? Jill What is your and/or your family's vacation plans? We are going to Myrtle Beach and meeting my sister (her two kids) and my mom (they live in NJ). By brother lives in Florence, SC and he is meeting us there to with his wife and four kids. I can't wait becuase I've never been there before and I'm anxious to see my family. Do you plan on doing anything differently this year? My sister and I are planning to take early morning walks on the beach just the two of us. We only get to see each twice a year and with us both being "walkers" now it should be a very special time. Also, I plan on riding rides at the amuzement park, haven't done that in YEARS!!

Good Morning Jill, Like the new name! Vacation plans are basically just getting my husbands boat into the water (almost there) and spending the summer boating as much as possible! He bought the boat (CHEAP) from a friend who had let it fall into disrepair through sun damage. My husband replaced the entire interior, floors and all. I sewed my little heart out making all new upholstery for it. The friend told us that 6 years ago the reupholstery work that needed to be done cost $5000.00! So, I guess I saved my husband a bundle of money! Everyone says it looks factory professional! I'll be nice and tan this summer! We plan to take the boat out the second week of June. Tracy

Thanks! I love to rubber stamp so I thought that would be a good one. Sounds like your husband owes you BIG bucks. You could buy a lot of clothes with $5000. Jill

Hi there Jill, Happy Friday to you also. I am glad you posted a question for the day., What are my vacation plans I plan to go to The Philly Bash this year. It is a gathering of all the large women and their admirers. I go every year. There are many who have had WLS whom I will see there. We have a great time. Do I plan on doing anything differently this year yes..........SIT ON THE BEACH MORE I also plan to walk on the boardwalk while I will be on vacation a bit more than usual. ENJOY YOUR DAY JILL....

We are actually taking a vacation this year. We have put vacations on hold since we had twins. We finally feel we can take one without it being a big ordeal. A friend is lending us her timeshare up in Gatlinburg. It's at a fancy resort that we would never be able to afford if she wasn't so kind. We love the mountains and we are really looking forward to this vacation. We are also taking the kids to Dollywood. Can't wait to have some fun.

Well my summer is starting early!! I have MINI VACATIONS this month. Now that the major school work is over, I have to use up the rest of my vacation time by the end of MAY. Next weekend I take my Aunt my Niagara Falls. I made reservations for Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales Inn (foo foo kinda place that I can't afford to stay at ($200+ night) in this beautiful little town called Niagara on the Lake (Victorian). And then we will do the typical tourist things--boat ride to the base of the falls etc...dinner in the revolving restaurant, casino, SHOPPING! May 21st weekend we head to Miami to see my Sister In Law graduate from college. We get to eat at Emeril's!!! Can't wait to waste an expensive meal! , plan to head to Key Biscayne and do a glass bottom boat ride, airboat ride/check out gators Memorial Weekend-- head to Hickory NC to visit my relatives June 4th weekend --My hubby's 10 yr college reunion at the Univ of Virginia -I have a preliminary job interview, maybe check out housing options...yes 1 yr in advance and hang out with hubby's friends! THEN the big vacation is AUGUST 8-22!!!!!!! North Island of New Zealand and Melbourne Australia! Thank goodness for Frequent Flyer miles and hotel points!! I hope we can get at least 1 weekday where we go to CEDAR POINT to ride some of the world's TOP TEN ROLLER COASTERS!!!! YIPPEEEE THEN I won't get any long breaks (more than a weekend****il School Break at Xmas. Fall is taken up with College and Pro Football (STEELERS). JILL-- let me know if you have any questions about Myrtle Beach-- I grew up near there and vacationed there at least 1x a year and I lived in FLORENCE for 2 yrs for college (Francis Marion) so we would go a lot to MB to have fun. Where are you staying there?

WOW Shannon you are going to be a busy bee Stay safe as you are traveling. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn-Oceanfront as of right now. My brother lives in Florence, he was trying to get some kind of time share or something and if that happens we may be staying in Harbour Lights on the Waterway. But we have reservations at the Holiday Inn just to be on the safe side. My family has never been there before so I'm really not sure what to ask you. Jill

Well it all depends on your interests--you have your usual tacky tourist places! But there is a ton of stuff now-- Boardwalk at the Beach Barefoot Landing both are great for shopping, dining, dancing, entertainment-- Ripley's Aquarium, Gators, IMAX, feeding the koi, putt putt with a fire breathing dragon, Hard Rock Cafe, House of Blues....all kinds of choices between those 2 places. Barefoot is North Myrtle and Boardwalk is close to the main strip but a few blocks over from the beach front. There is also a minor league baseball team (at least there was a few years ago). There are a few water parks, roller coasters, tons of PUTT PUTT great 3 dimensional stuff....with waterfalls, volcanos etc.... You will have lots of fun!
