Starting weight poll!
Well Do I win a prize I started out at: 498 I am now: 410 but my top weight was 510 and I am 6'0" and Surgery was Dec 3rd. 2003. I know I shouldn't make light of it I would probably have lost more yet but I am not able to exercise much due to 2 disks that are also blown out in my lower back that I have to have surgery on in the near future. But I still think I am doing great; I am able to walk now better than I have in years and I have more energy than my grandkids. lol.

I was at my top weight, 315 day of surgery and have now lost 80 lbs so am 235. My surgeon's goal for me is 180 but my own goal is more like 165. I am VERY large boned (my ankles are 14" around and have NOT shrunk since surgery; my wrists are half again as large as most women's wrists) so I don't think it is realistic for me to go lower than 165 and that may not even be possible. I'm 5'8".

I began my whole journey toward surgery at 336 (last May) and I am 5'3. I now weigh 207 and my goal is 140-150, depending on how I look and how much skin comes into play, etc. I think it is doable. I have figured that if I can lose 2 pounds a week from now until Christmas, I will be at 140. I know it will get harder as I get smaller, but that is what I am working toward. I am medium boned.
My sis in law had surgery a year and a half ago and she is 5'5 and now weighs 135 (she was 300+ when she started the journey and 265 or so at surgery) and she looks too skinny (other than her excess skin--she doesn't have an insurance that will approve skin removal). I figure she would weigh about 120 without the skin.

My highest weight was 237 last summer but at the time of my surgery I was 230. Today, I weigh 157!! I'm a shorty though (5'1") and my doctor has a goal for me of 125--not sure if that is before or after plastics. I would guess before b/c I think I could get rid of 5 pounds of excess skin right now and I'm not done losing!!
