Well ball season is upon us and my husband and I coach one of our childrens teams.. I have always loved sunflower seeds. Does anyone know if this is acceptable or not? There is 130 calories 10g of fat 50mg of sodium 4 carbs & 5g of protein sounded like a good snack for me considering it takes me 3 hours to eat this snack..

Hello Kim, I too love sunflower seeds. I put them on my salad. They do have loads of fat in them however so I only eat them occasionally. I think they have a lot of salt too which causes me to retain water now too. I have heard that many on the main message board do eat them though. Have a great day, Tracy

I love them too Kim. We went to the Rangers game last night I had to eat some... mine had 150 calories, and 16g of protein.... but it is for a lot of seeds... pre opened mind you. I love them every now and then and will continue to have them for a snack from time to time. ~Rachel

I have been eating them as an afternoon snack on occasion at work. I buy the round container and scoop out 2-3 spoonfuls. Other than the fat they are good for you and if memory serves me correct it isn't the bad kind of fat. Fats from nuts/veggies are better than animal fats. I wouldn't sweat it. Besides it is low in calories.
