4 months out and having a bad week
I am getting so scared. I grazed all weekend and gained 2 pounds. I am so much hungier now than ever before since surgery! I am making good choices as far as protein but seem to be able to eat sooo much more than last month. I had lost 75 pounds and I know this is a major accomplishment but I have 100 pounds still to lose. I don't be one of the few who fail at this. Does anyone else feel this way! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI THERE GINA, CONGRADS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS. I DONT HAVE THAT PROBLEM YET. I GET FULL FAST AND I AM JUST BEGINNING EATING AND DIGESTING WELL I HAVE LOST 80 PDS. WE HAD SURGERY THE SAME DATE ... DONT BE DOWN ON YOURSELF YOU HAVE DONE WELL VERY WELL TO YOU ... WE ARE ALL HUMAN CONTINUE YOUR WLS LOOKING AHEAD OK?.... IF YOU CAN TOLERATE EATING THEN DONT GRAZE AND ENJOY THE FOOD . YOU ARE LUCK YOU CAN ENJOY THE FOOD..... UNLIKE ME ..........LORRAINE
Hi Gina!
It must be a month 4 thing, because I feel like I can eat so much more than previous months too I even did the cottage cheese test that I have read about on the main board. Found that I can eat 3-3.5oz and be comfortably full. Not over full.
GRAZING, now that's a killer for me too. Some days, I feel like I am putting something in my mouth all day I have broken the habit of soda, don't even drink diet, and eating anything after dinner, but grazing is still so hard to overcome.
YOU WILL NOT FAIL!!!! You are all ready a success Keep making good protien choices and you will continue to do well.
Hugs, Kimberly
245/165/140??
well I was up a pound this morning but it is due to CONSTIPATION...can you use that as an excuse??!!
EVEN when I snack a lot I keep my calories UNDER 1000.
Watch your calories---maybe you aren't actually eating too much it just seems like it?
In the past 2 weeks I have snacked more (bad choices REAL potato chips left over from Panera Bread). JUST recognize what you are doing and put a stop to it.
Try to at least graze on things that either give you fiber or protein instead of empty calories. Eat a small apple. Have a pc of cheese.....
YOU won't fail! YOU see what you are doing and want to stop! Make a conscious decision the next time you snack--make a deal with yourself if you don't snack that you can buy XYZ...Paint your fingernails so you can't eat! Pop in a tic tac Brush your teeth....
get away from the bad stuff/make sure it isn't visible.
I opened a white choc reeses cup the other day from Easter...took 2 small bites and then left the rest for my husband. I could have easily eaten the whole thing. The sugar is low enough for me to tolerate but I CHOSE not too and set it down on the counter on top of the mail where I knew he would see it when he got home from work.
Measure/weigh/calculate the calories of what you want. Divide it up thru out the day so you can have a "snack" but not go overboard.
Go back to eating SLOWER for your meals. Adding cereal to my yogurt makes me really FULL for a lot longer in the mornings....so I am NOT hungry for quite a while (downfall is that I don't drink either) but at least I am not eating.
We can and will fight the HUNGER DEMONS!!!!! TOGETHER!
Hi Gina, I am a couple of weeks ahead of you and have lost 69 pounds. You are doing a GREAT job. Don't sell yourself short. It is way too early to have doubts now. I agree with Shannon also, if you are having problems with constipation (I was) and aren't losing then you should do something about it. Also, fluids and protein are very important. Make sure you are doing both of those. Allow yourself a treat, there is nothing wrong with that. Just make good choices. Don't keep the "bad" stuff in the house. Concentrate on the "good" stuff. We're here for you. You CAN DO IT!!
Jill
I am right there with you Hun! I've only lost 3 lbs since April 1st. I seem to be on a plateau right now. I havn't lost a pound in 2 weeks! My hunger has also returned full force, and I do seem to be able to eat a lot more then I usually could. Well I guess I can eat more dinner, all my other meals I feel about the same. I know some of my eating is from head hunger. I've had a stressfull 2 weeks, but I'm trying my best not to listen to my head.
Be strong, we'll get through this together!

Hello,
I had a week where all I wanted to do was graze too. I think it is the 4 month thing...we have tried just about everything and know what we can tolerate so we push the limit. I finally broke myself of that bad grazing habit trying to creep back. It could be hormonal, you might just get over it in a few days. Try to stay away from carbs, they will make you crave and graze like crazy. Even nutrasweet can do that to you!!! Stick with Splenda products. If I cut out more carbs, the eating binges go away. You have done great! Keep up the great work! Tracy
I SWEAR YOU ARE ALL READING MY MIND. I WAS WONDERING WHY AM I ABLE TO EAT MORE THEN NORMAL. SOMETHING I CAN ALMOST FINISH A WHOLE HAMBURGER AND IM FULL BUT NOT SICK FULL. I AM SCARED I AM GOING TO STRECH MY TUMMY. BUT I HAVE NOT GAINED ANYTHING. SOMETHING I CAN EAT 4 BITES OF SOMETHING AND I AM SICKLY FULL, BUT THEN THERE ARE TIMES I CAN ALMOST FINISH A WHOLE MEAL. WHY IS THAT? I HOPE IM NOT OVER DOING IT. PLUS HAVE ANY OF YOU BEEN ABLE TO EAT CHOCOLATE WITHOUT BEING SICK? IM WORRIED.
