Note to self:
Note to self: Don't ever let another glorious spring morning get by without a brisk walk. Normally, I walk in the evening with my friend but we've missed a couple nights and tonight is looking "iffy" too due to schedules......so I decided to walk this morning just to be sure I got one in. I honestly feel like God gave me a glimpse of heaven even though I was walking on asphalt and concrete instead of streets of gold!
The birds were singing their hearts out! The lilac bushes were blooming and smelling so sweet! The temperature was perfect (60 degrees) and everything was green.
I felt like I had "spring" in my step. I couldn't believe how I felt as I walked....as I had not walked that route since before my WLS. It has some hills.....and I was forging right up them, not longing for the next downhill stretch. At one point I noticed that I was "comfortably breathing harder"......like a person who was getting a nice workout......instead of huffing and puffing......like a person about to die when I used to walk that route. I walked the route in 25 minutes....it used to take me much longer and even when I got home (which requires a trek up a steep hill at the end) I felt so good instead of so dead.
How blessed I am! WLS has changed my life so incredibly!
Two other things.....hair started falling out today.......wasn't yesterday...today it is but I will NOT stress out over it (and I have a LOT of hair...very thick). And......I lost 2 lbs. in the first 2 days of my new month...so am off to a good start for my 5 mo. anniversary.

I should also start walking in the morning.....Sounds so refreshing!! By the way your new pic looks wonderful......You have got to be proud of yourself!!! My hair too is falling out.....it is not the end of the world....I still get sad in the shower when I have a handful, but it will start growing again soon....and quit falling out......If that is the worst that happens I am so thankful!!!! HAppy anniversary....You are doing great! Jesi
OH my hair has been falling out since the beginning of MARCH easily if not sooner.
Fortunately I have TONS of hair (fine but lots of it)....and you can't tell but I have handfulls in the shower every day....
I think I leave DNA evidence everywhere I go these days!!!
IF only I could get up out of bed early enough to get to work on time then I could consider getting up earlier to walk!
I am looking forward to having clinicals from 3-11 during the week days. I can sleep in, get up and work out, cook lunch at home and then head off to school. Run around the hospital at night then come home and go to bed around the same time I do now....midnight! Exercising will be so much easier when I am on a schedule that fits my body clock!
Hi Jenni,
Ever since the nice weather hit I have been walking outside in the morning. I go around 6:50 when the sun is coming up. And I thank God for His creation and this fabulous gift He has given me. Actually when it is raining I am disappointed because I have to walk inside. I even went further this morning, no running out of breath, no joint aches, no excuses! Enjoy the outside!
