Anyone else have problems with infections?

Hello Everyone, I am very rarely the one to actually post the question. But today my inquiring mind wants to know if anyone else has problems with urinerary tract and/or yeast infections (sorry guys). I have had several since surgery and I just can't figure out why. I went to my regular doctor today and she tells me I have one but can't tell me why! I see my surgeon next week but was just wondering what kind of infections and/or experiences you all have had. Hi Jill. I never had UTI's until after surgery.. I was told 2 things may be causing the 3 I have had since surgery.. 1 being the foley catheter possibly irritating the area.. and 2 -inadequate liquid intake in order to flush out bacteria causing infections.. I drink diet cranberry juice cut with water and have been UTI free the past few weeks.. good luck.. These can be so uncomfortable ... Elaine

I agree that the cranberry juice works.......Make sure you get diet and mix it with water and drink a big ole glass a day......also you could try getting some no sugar added yogurt...make sure it says it has live cultures in it.....acidophilis is the main one......that can really help with the yeast infections (remember this is only my opinion...lol) But UTI's and yeast infections can be common after surgery.....I was on antibiotics for the surgery and a lot of times they can be the cause.....And once you get those types of infections you just have to really careful to drink enough water and yogurt and get the stuff taken care of.....But if you are on antibiotics for the UTI they can be causing the yeast infections....so make sure you get some yogurt in ya!!!!
