Q.O.D. 4/15
Can you believe we are half way through April already?
Today's question is:
At four months out, what is the most
Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS?
Disappointing thing?
Scariest thing?
Surprising thing?
For me it would be;
Exciting = How good I feel with only 68 of the 200 pounds I need to lose gone.
Disappointing = that I have only lost 68lbs so far (when I have so much to lose)
Scariest = The amount of people that have strictures or blockages
Surprising thing = The amount of great friends I have made because of this surgery.
Have a great day

Good Morning Jackie,
Guess what today is??? HOUSE CLEANING DAY!!! UGH! I know what you mean about the halfway through April already thing....Where does the time go. I'm OK with it going fast up until I make goal weight THEN I would like the time to slow down so I can enjoy it!

At four months out, what is the most
Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS? That I am NOT a failure as my doctor said I was going to be and I am just about on target with all the other Decemberites!
Disappointing thing? Weight does not come off as fast as I thought it would. :o(
Scariest thing? Things can get STUCK! OWIE (Still no word on those X-rays...Good thing I'm not still suffering, huh?!)
Surprising thing? That you still have to work really hard at this to make it work.
Have a great day, now I guess we should go clean...Right after our naps! Tracy

Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS?
That I feel sooo much better about my appearance and my sex life has improved
Disappointing thing?
My lack of motivation to exercise
Scariest thing?
That I won't be able to maintain a weight loss if I don't get into a regular exercise habit
Surprising thing?
Losing weight from the top down and having my big ol belly left and how I can wear pants bigger than people that weigh 50-75 lbs more than me. I gained it proportionally and I expected to lose it that way. SILLY ME

Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS? Just plain old loosing the weight! Makes me feel great.
Disappointing thing? Sagging skin, I look in the mirror and think oh my god what am I going to do.
Scariest thing? All the extra skin!!
Surprising thing? That clothes fit and I can hide the skin!
Hi, haven't been posting much lately, been busy this week!
At 4 months,
Most exciting: Starting to feel like a normal person instead of a freak.
Most disappointnig: Slow loss
Scariest: That I will fail at this too
Most surprising: I thought the surgery would just make me lose weight, it still takes dieting, exercise and a lot of work, only this time, it actually comes off!

Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS? That my joints don't hurt when I walk and I don't want to just "sit around" anymore.
Disappointing thing? That I keep getting urinary tract and yeast infections.
Scariest thing? That I'll be stuck (been stuck for almost 2 weeks) at this weight and won't lose anymore.
Surprising thing? That my sex life has improved.

Great questions...it helps a lot to think about these things.
Exciting: How great I feel physically...no back aches, being able to move AND breathe at the same time
Disappointing: slow loss
Scariest: how much I can eat (which could mean failure)
Surprising: that I wasnt thin in 4 months!

I will be 4 months out on Sunday....here are my answers:
At four months out, what is the most
Exciting thing you have discovered about WLS? That I'm seldom the largest person in the room anymore, that I feel so healthy, that I've actually lost 70 lbs! .....and that I'm back into my exercise routine which I did for years until my weight made it harder to do.
Disappointing thing? That I probably won't quite get to -100 by my 6 mo. anniversary (but I should be close!)
Scariest thing? Vitamin issues.....my only complication has been anemia....remembering my vitamins daily.
Surprising thing? That along my journey, I've only come across a couple unsupportive people (one was my PCP at the time.....but I found another GREAT PCP). My friends and family have been highly supportive all the way through. I'm also sometimes surprised by how much I CAN eat. I try hard to limit it, but can eat more than I think I should be able to. Still it is nothing compared to what I could eat before WLS.
