Blood test
Hey everyone.. I was just wondering if your doctor was doing any blood test on you.. So far My doctor hasnt done any on me and he doenst plan to do any until my 1 year anniversary.. What have you been tested for. Im going to get my PCP to do my blood test but I have to know what he needs to test for. Thanks so much. Kim
Hello Kim,
I agree you should have had your blood tested at least once so far. My doctor tested mine at 6 weeks and will again at 6 months, after that, I would guess 1 year. Even that is pretty far spaced out, but you should have it tested to make sure you don't have any deficiencies. Always better to catch them early before they cause damage. Tracy

Oh my yes.....talk to your PCP if your surgeon doesn't order them. I just had my 3 month labs only to find out that I'm quite anemic!!!! I feel TOTALLY FINE! But my labs show that I need extra iron so I think we've caught it early enough. I have to wonder if it has to do with the fact that I had a 3 week period not too long ago. Yes, you NEED to have your labs checked, probably every 3 months the first year. My PCP has told me I will have tohave my iron/ hemoglobin checked again in a month...she really wants to keep an eye on this!
