Sorry for not posting a recipe yesterday!! It seems that I must be the cook of the bunch so here is my HOT ROD (just for you Tracy!! ) of the day!! (I made this with Turkey since my surgeon said no beef for six months.) Turkey Spaghetti 1 lb ground Turkey 1 lb Turkey Italian sausage 1 large jar spaghetti sauce 1 spaghetti squash Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise. Put cut side down in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. (When done, the skin of the squash should "give" when firmly pushed with finger.) In the mean time, Cut Turkey sausage into bite sized pieces and brown in large pot... Add ground turkey and heat until everything is thoroughly cooked. Season as desired Add spaghetti sauce and simmer until squash is done. When squash is done, hold with oven mit and using a fork, scrap out the insides into a large bowl. It will come out in spaghetti like strands. This is wonderful!!!

I've tried the spaghetti squash as a spaghetti alternative and it was really good! It was much better than when I tried the low carb Atkins spaghetti it tasted like cardboard. Also tried whole wheat pasta which isn't low carb, but at least made with whole wheat and it was good. Lisa G

Thank you Laura. It sounds really good. I'll send it to my husband, he does most of the cooking in our house. Jill

Mmmmmmmmm It sounds wonderful! Can I add some meatballs to that?! I truly miss spaghetti and meatballs! Sniff Sniff! Lowrys, the makers of that new great BBQ sauce now makes a Low Carb Spaghetti sauce! I wonder if it is any good?! Laura, Thanks for doing the HOT ROD just for me! Hee Hee Vrroom Vvrrooom! I am a great cook, but I have not experimented with the low carb/high protein stuff yet. I'm sure i will soon. I still make my same old recipes for the family, I just usually don't eat them or only eat the protein from them. If it is something I don't think I should eat, I just toss a piece of fish into the oven for me. (thats getting old) lol Have a great weekend! Tracy

Make turkey meatballs!! The trick to cooking for the family, is to cook the same old stuff, just make the ingredients healthier ones. My husband loves this spaghetti recipe and neither of us can tell it is turkey instead if beef.
