Carbs
I found out the other night that I could finally tolerate bread. I ordered a vegetarian pizza turnover from the local joint. Anyways, I had a slice last night, a slice at lunch, and a slice after work. Let me tell you I feel like crap. My stomach feels like I have 100 pounds sitting in it. What a yucky feeling. Guess I don't need bread after all.
For me carbs are the devil...............I eat them (all except bread cannot do that yet) and they make me hungry and snacky all day long......I love crackers and cheese.....but once I eat some I want them ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!! And they do make us feeel like crap....tired and hungry!! I really need to stick to protein only(except fruit and veggies) Carbs were my problem food pre-op and still struggling with them now Wish me luck on staying away from them.......Take Care Jesi
I eat low carb tortilla type stuff, toasted/grilled sandwich bread white or wheat whatever my husband has around the house...
when we go out to eat I usually have 1 or 2 bites of the free bread they bring out...sometimes NONE or I will just eat the harder crust part.
But I normally have at least 1 bite.
Right now my tummy is upset so I am eating some crackers with my cheese (didn't feel like breakfast yet so haven't eaten my yogurt). I think I am having peanut butter and crackers for lunch. Boring eh? BUT I haven't eaten crackers in a while.
I will eat tortellini, a few bites of pasta here and there for my meals, a few bites of mashed potatoes....etc... I want to be NORMAL!
FOR pizza cravings...I keep BAGEL BITES or Jeno's Pizza Rolls on hand. They have a decent amount of protein and since they are baked the bread is crispier and less apt to swell up.
I can control how much I cook and the rest stays nicely in the freezer for a later date!
I made a LOW carb boboli pizza this weekend (5 " round) and was able to eat half. I get the pizza bread at the TLC low carb store.
I used regular boboli pizza sauce and turkey pepperoni.
