Well, on day 11 my stall finally broke and I lost 2 lbs. bringing me to the 60 pound loss I'd been hoping for....there's just something encouraging about getting to the next "10". I rec'd a lot of good advice yesterday from several people mainly just the point that "this is how it goes.....stalls are truly normal." Believe me, I should be figuring that out as my whole weight loss pattern has been to stall for 7 days, then down a few pounds, then stall 6-7 more days.....I guess it just freaked me out when I stalled for 10 days this early. Also, several highly recommended not weighing daily and I have been trying to analyze why I feel so compelled to weigh daily....and I think I've figured it out....it is because I CAN now....withOUT shame. For so many years, getting on the scale meant nothing but shame to me, even though I have since come to understand that it wasn't totally my fault as I truly believe between my rotten metabolism and the disease of MO.....there was nothing I could do about it without help from WLS. Still, weighing equaled shame. Now, even though I'm still 80 lbs. or more from my goal weight, and even though weighing can be very FRUSTRATING when it doesn't move.....even so......weighing now isn't a shameful activity to me. And even in the midst of frustration, there is something "freeing" about that. I very well may have to put the scales out of sight at some point as the stalls do drive me kinda nuts but I'm so glad to be rid of the shame! I fully understand the ones that don't believe it is a good practice to weigh daily.....and I may have to join them but for now, it makes more sense to me to do it than not. Just my thoughts this spring morning! Jenni 315/255/170?? 5'8" -60 FINALLY

Jenni, I agree! I actually look forward to getting on the scale and seeing the downward trend...even if it doesn't move every day!!!! IT is exciting to see it go DOWN instead of UP....I don't feel the dread!

Okay Jenni I sent you a message saying I understand the stall you are going through. I click on this message and you are now beyond your stall. I hope that when I wake up tomorrow I am beyond mine...lol. I am 2 little pounds from being down 60 pounds too! I can't wait to join you down there! I spoke to my hubby last night and I weigh less than he does!! He left here at 188 but lost weight while being over in Iraq. He told me last night that he weighed and he is at 176... that means I weigh 4 pounds less than he does. It has been so long since I could say I weigh less than him... as a matter of fact I think I weighed 4 pounds more than him when we met and that was 10 years ago. He did weigh about 10 pounds less back then but now I weigh less and I am so happy! ~Rachel

Rachel, I hope yours is gone tomorrow too....I was honestly beginning to wonder if mine would EVER break...the scale seemed so stubborn! It feels good to reach that -60 mark and you will do it soon! Congrats on getting lower than your hubby! I still can't say that, I'm afraid! Jenni

Seems like I always have a 3-4 day stall when I reach the tens/190,180,170, etc. I didn't weigh yesterday and today on the scale after being at 160 for a whole week, I had dropped two pounds. I always weigh daily, though.

Hi Jenni, You can add another post op plateau to the list of those experiencing and getting frustrated with the stalls. LOL I have also been in a stall pattern, but it seems normal to me at this point. I stalled once for three weeks and thought I was the only one who wasn't going to lose weight. LOL That was over 22 lbs. ago. I'm down -52 pounds in 13 weeks and still losing. My surgeon told me, we will go in spurts, every two to four weeks we will lose a chunk of weight. I don't mind the stalls because it gives my skin a chance to catch up to my body. I'm getting excited to reach the next set of ten's which for me is in the 180's bracket. I went balastic with excitement when I got under the 200 mark, and it just keeps getting better with each week. I'm almost to the half way mark, which I understand gets more difficult to lose the closer we get to our goal. Congrats on your -60 lb. loss. Fantastic numbers !! Hello Everyone, I'm new to this board, honestly I really didn't know it existed, I just happened upon today. Hallelujah!! The always felt like I just got lost in the Main Messageboard so I mainly just try to read occassionally but not post much. I know this sounds crazy. But it feels so good to have a "messageboard" with just our WLS month. It thrills my heart to know that other people who had WLS the same time I did are going through the same stalls, problems, etc. Anyway, I'm glad I found you all! -Jill 311/250/170??
