away damn scale, away...
I HATE MY SCALE, YET I LOVE MY SCALE....what's a girl to do???
I have seen no change in the last week and I am getting mad soooo, I have decided to banish my scale to the top shelf of the garage until April 8th-my 4 month anniversary.
Anyone wanna join me?? I've got to get over this love-hate relationship and the fact that my scales call me everyday, sometimes more than once, to hop on.
Oh, what's a girl to do??? ~Kimberly
Hello Kimberly,
I SO know how you feel! Bani**** to the garage....Well, I don't think I have the courage. I mean, what would I do every morning before I do anything else? That is my routine..Strip completely naked...Take off glasses, headband, contact lenses, body lotion, medicinal patches, fingernail polish, trim my nails, exfoliate, etc. ANYTHING to make sure there is NO added weight and weigh myself! lol Maybe if it goes an entire week this time...I'll do this but right now I have been the same for 2 days so the scale and I are still friends. Here's an Idea, shake things up... eat breakfast for dinner or take your vits at a differnt time, do your exercise at a different time. Sometimes this is enough for your body to say..."HEY, Whats going on" and get the scale to move again. Sometimes just upping my carbs a little will work too. I know, my body is pretty easily foold sometimes, sometimes not, but it is always worht a try when the scale doesn't move! I wish you the best of luck,
Tracy
Oh, my, have I been there! So far, I've had to commit to weighing in only once a week due to scale obsession, and I may have to move it up to a month! Lost nothing for 2 weeks - finally down 4 pounds this week.
I lost it , big time, 2 weeks ago
when the scale didn't move for almost a MONTH, and I'm only 3 months out. HOW CAN I PLATEAU WHEN I JUST GOT STARTED??? But I did, and it took the advice and experience of others in this situation to calm me down. I remember screaming at my poor husband -"If I wanted to lose a frickin' HALF POUND a WEEK, I could have gone back to Weigh****chers for the 37th time!!"
But, it does move eventually. How can it NOT? We're working our tushies off, here! It's just in fits and starts, which I find very frustrating, being impatient and goal-oriented. Plus, we see and hear of others who literally melt away so easily - why can't that be US? My own sister NEVER had a week without at least a 3 pound loss for 6 months straight. But then again, she vomited nearly daily, too. Even trade, I guess............
I say put the scale away, and pull it out once a month for a nice little surprise - then go buy yourself something fun!

I got on and off my scale this morning until I got the # I wanted
but it said 210.4 instead of the 211.X it was trying to give me the first time!
darn Tanita
BUT I knew I had to have lost after finally being UNCONSTIPATED...that stuff had to have weighed something!!!!!!!
It all depends on where/how I stand....different #'s all the time. MAKES no sense at all!
BUT I can't not weigh everyday....I am a slave to my scale. Every morning before I get in the shower...hmmm wonder how much my glasses weigh???
then I couldn't read the scale.....hmmm maybe I should keep my hair short...how many pounds does that weigh? Oh wait...I am losing it already so that should help!
Oh my, you are all women after my own heart. I spent YEARS NOT weighing as I was going up...now since WLS, I bought a new digital and I way obsessively every morning, though I do wear my jammies but they are light-weight. BUt mine also will do different numbers sometimes if I weigh 3 times in rapid succession and I hate it! I really OUGHT to put mine away until my 4 month anniversary.....which is a whole month away (3 months was just yesterday) but I don't think I can do it! YIKES!
