Q.O.D..Day 17
Is it Friday??????????????? Well it has been Spring Break here all week, and so I think I am now officially worn out. We have had, a wedding in D.C., four family birthdays, endless birthday parties and enless shopping with my daughter and two teenage nieces (prom is coming) I have had a hard time keeping track of my water and food intake this week as we have eaten out almost every meal.
Anyway, enough about me The question of the day is....
Does it bother you when other people eat in front of you? And, do eating noises (smacking) bother you? If so has it always been this way, or is it just since surgery?
Ooooooooooops told you I was out of it.....this is Day 18
Okay, my answer is....
It doesn't bother me when people eat in front of me in general, but I do have to say when my DH brings chips and cookies into the bedroom it irritates me. And as for smacking...oh my....it has always been something that bothers me a little, but now I HATE hearing eating noises. Maybe it is time I visit a shrink
I have always hated eating noises. I make my kids nervy when we eat. I must get that from my Grandmother. She could never handle that and bless her heart she had 6 kids!! We never could have gum esp. Anyway, it doesn't bother me for people to eat in front of me. Since my surgery, I can just walk away from the foods that I would go crazy over!! I never knew that I had that much will power!! I am thankful every day for this new "tool" that I have.

That is my BIGGEST pet-peeve in life.....I hate it when people don't chew with their mouth shut......Just plain disgusting!!! Or when they take like 5 bites of one chip so all you hear is crunch crunch crunch......It doesn't bother me for people to eat in front of me....I thought it would, but I really do fine......I also know what you mean about thee water when you are always out......sometimes weekends are like that for me too.....When your out and running it is wasy to forget about the water......Good Luck and Take Care Jesi
other people eating doesn't phase me....
If I am still not full ....or it has been a while since I have eaten...I will decide to have just 1 bite. and walk away. I usually just want a taste of something and then I get over it and I am fine.
one of my best friend's ---her husband kinda hums when he eats...weird!
i do notice how everyone eats huge bites and barely chews....the thought of doing that makes me cringe--I wish I could but the consequences aren't worth it....but over chewing my food makes my pouch happy 99.9% of the time and makes it not taste that great after a while...
which I think is why when you eat fast/chew less you eat more--it tastes sooo good when you first get it into your mouth...but the longer you chew on that cud...the more blah it gets....the less I want.
This surgery works!
Hello,
Today BEGINS our spring vacation for a week! Eating noises, ALWAYS hated them, I swear I can hear them from across the room! Sometimes people eating in front of me bothers me and other times not. I think it depends on my mood, if the scale moved that day (if the scale is not moving I usually feel more deprived as if I am suffering for nothing), what they are eating. Usually though, I'm not bothered. Tracy
(Gonna be sleeping in all week next week! WOO HOO)
My family were all eating bagels and drinking coffee in my preop room the day of my surgery, and the nurse was astounded that it didn't bother me. I was far too excited! Until the Dr. came in and told us that they had run out of O-pos. blood the night before, and I would have to reschedule my surgery. BWAAAAAHHH! You can bet I tore through 3 different restaurants that day.
People eating in front of me still doesn't bother me, although I've noticed that my appetite is starting to return with certain food smells. Things that were turning me off before are now making me salivate again.
Spring break here, too (Jupiter, Florida) and my husband has arranged a Disney trip next week, so this will be my first big foray into the World o' Restaurants in a big way. Wish me luck!
