need travel help
Hello,
So sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sure some place warm is a good idea. Florida has so many theme parks and such, very family oriented. You can spend days together just enjoying eachothers company and enjoying the sites and such. Great time of year right now too as it isn't too hot! If needed most things are wheelchair accessable. Lots to do at the parks, lots to see makes for a great time. Busch Gardens is nice as they are a zoo too. I personally love Walt Disney World. I wish you all the best,
Tracy
What are your options for travel? fly? drive only?
how long of a trip?
how is your mother able to get around?
I am the queen of trip planning! I am currently doing a New Zealand and Melbourne Australia trip for August.
do you have a budget????
A great place to start with (fairly) helpful message boards is
FODOR's
www.fodors.com
I use it lot to get help from LOCAL people in the towns I will be visiting.
IT is free! NEVER pay a travel agent unless you have too! I hate canned trips.
I enjoy being able to change my sites/times as I go. IF I want to spend an extra hour in a town then I can...instead of hopping on a bus and running to the next site.
When do you plan to go?
Where have you been in the past?
Has your MOTHER ever voiced an opinion on a place she would like to see??
My mom died of breast cancer when I was 15 (so almost 15 yrs ago)...she always wanted to go to NYC and see a broadway play...she NEVER made it.
SO don't hesitate to do this trip!!!! AND just being together and spending quality time--is what is important...but breathingtaking sites don't hurt either.
and you can always have the special place to remember in your heart when you think of your mom!
Feel free to email me with any details or help!
