Hi Jill, The quantity sounds OK, but the carbs look pretty high. Bananas, potatoes, crackers and corn are all big foods as far as carbs are concerned. For fruit, try to choose berries (melon was a good choice--no****ermelon!) For veggies, choose green or orange For snacks, choose nuts and cheese I am the low-carb queen (in knowldege, not so much in practice so if you have any questions, you can ask me! Lisa G

Lisa, Thanks so much for the info. i had no idea corn and bananas had carbs. Thats too bad cuz they are my fav. The whole carb thing confuses me. I know the basics like no pasta, potatoes, bread that sort of thing but I never would have guessed the fruits and veggies. Go figure. Thanks again.

um, Lets see Started to drink vanilla Advantage shake but gross so I threw it out. So I came to work and had egg beaters with a slice of cheese in the microwave for under 1min 15 grams pro. Then lunch 1/4 of bean and cheese burito, And dinner egg and sausage. I did not drink any water yesterday well actually I did a couple sips. (thats my biggest problem) I am addicted to O.J.

Hello, must agree, your carbs are very high. Might I suggest that you go to www.FITDAY.com you can log in everything that you eat there and it gives you the nutritional information that you need. Here is what my dietitican told me to get PER DAY... Calories: 500-750 Fat 20-30 grams Protein 50-70 grams Carbs 30-50 grams Fluid 64 PLUS ounces These are PER DAY values. If you must have cereal, Total makes a new low carb high protein cereal! Pretty tasty. A good rule of thumb to go by is get at least 20 grams of protein in PER MEAL! That way you will have at least your 60 grams in per day. If you are not supplimenting with a protein shake, you should be. Without the protein you will be tired and not feeling well, you body cannot function properly without enough protein! It can cause your weight loss to slow down if you don't get enough and can also cause hair loss! Protein is your best friend after surgery! You MUST get in at LEAST 60 grams per day for your body to maintain! More is always better too! Take your vitamins also! I take 5000mcg (yes 5-thousand) of B-12 per day (Sublingual), I take iron, Calcium (Citrate is best), Multi Vitamin. You have to take these after surgery so you can be healthy! We do not absorb anything the way a normal person does anymore so we must be very dilegent about getting in our nutrition through our food AND through our suppliments! Hope I don't sound preachy, I just want to emphasize how important this all is for you to live! We want our Decemberites to be happy AND healthy! Take care! Email me if you have any questions. Tracy
