WE THE SLOW LOSERS
Hello to you all,
A bit on SLOW LOSERS. I myself am a slow loser. I have just learned to live with the fact. I was a slow loser before surgery and still am. Nothing changed. BUT I have to say that I cannot be unhappy about this (at least not ALL the time, I have my days). I just sit down and tell myself... When in 2 months (however long it has been) have I ever lost THIS much weight in that time period of time? NEVER!!! That sort of puts things into perspective.
I you are a slow loser and compare yourself to others as I do everyday... you will always find someone who has lost more and or faster than you BUT on the flip side if you keep looking, you will also find someone who has lost less and more slowly than yourself!
As long as you know you are doing what you should be doing....drinking your 64+oz of water per day...60+ grms of protein per day...taking your vitamins, calcium, iron etc. and moving around more than you did before surgery then whatever your body is doing is NORMAL for you and you are doing great!
As the turtle says...Slow but Steady wins the race! We may be slow, but we ARE losing the weight! REALLY WE ALL ARE! We WILL do this! Our finish lines may be at different times BUT we will all finish our race! Keep those chins up! (in my case I still have two) Besides, so I hear, losing more slowly means you are more likely to KEEP the weight off AND heres a big one... Our skin is more likely to go back into place as it has more time to catch up!
We have reached the other side...and the view is beautiful!

Mindy,
I'm so glad that my post helped you! Maybe next week I will be the one who needs the little pep talk! As I said, I have my days when I feel down about losing slowly too. I get those times when I am running from 2-3 pounds for a week or more, the same 2-3 pounds! Up and down those pounds go! Drives me crazy! Then I get a break in the scale and they finally go away! Then I feel great! Let's just try to keep our chins up and KNOW that we are doing wonderfully! Take lots of pictures! You will want them later! Tracy
Tracy...Oh, do I know what you mean by slow. I am so pleased with the 55lbs I have lost so far. However, that scale is not moving! I am addicted to the scales I get on it at least 4 times a day...mind you before WLS I never even owned one. I will sometimes ask my husband if he thinks this is really working and he just laughs. I am at the point now that people are noticing my weight loss and I just want to keep losing. Its such a sacrafice and I want the maxium weight loss! I took my first photo the other day to compare. I think we had our surgery on the same date if I remember correctly...12/12? Well, thanks for your post. Here's to losing 5 lbs this month....that is my goal.

Hoping to do the happy dance soon with some more weight gone!
Karie,
Yes, our date is the same 12-12. What can I say about scales? Love them one day, want to give them a kiss, then another day you want to chuck them out into the road and run over them, back and forth, over and over again with your car! I too am a scale junkie. I get on every morning...I take off everything..I mean even my glasses and any hair accessory! There is nothing but air on me when I get on the scale...well, I don't want ANY extra weight, afterall. I TRY not to weigh after that because I get the truest, empty stomach reading in the am. Before I eat of course. I used to weigh several times per day, but I learned that that is really disappointing as we are eating and drinking all day and only ADDING weight to ourselves during the day so I KNOW I will weigh more in the evening than I did in the morning. So, I TRY to stay off of it after the first weigh in of the day. NOW, if the scale isn't moving THEN I get more obsessed and start weighing more often. You think I would LEARN! BUT NOOOO!!! Best of luck to you, that scale will move again! REALLY it will! Tracy
