SAME OLD POSTS
Hello to my fellow December Bypassers,
I check this message board at least once a day (usually more) and it seems that most of the time it is the same old posts! We need to step up the pace on our board! Post your weight of the day, what you ate for the day, Exercise or lack thereof, whatever! I and MANY others are interested to hear how others who had thier surgery in December are doing! So, POST POST POST!!! Go Crazy!!!
I'll start....Ahem....I had my surgery on 12-12. I have now lost 49 pounds! That may be good to some and low to others, but hey, thats me! I am discovering bones that I never knew I had! They aren't SHOWING yet, but they are there, I can feel them. Some are annoying as the ones in my hiney...getting hard to sit in the hard tub! But bones are a great thing! I can actually feel my collar bones for the first time in YEARS...Almost starting to protrude! I posted a new photo on my OH profile under February. I compared it with my before photo. I can see a difference...can you? Please, about profiles... we all try to compare ourselves to others as we lose, and usually before surgery too. Please post your height and weight on your profile so we can compare!
OK, now it is your turn....Post away! Take care, Tracy
Hi Tracy, I agree I bounce back and forth between the message boards but there rarely is anything new on Decembers. I had my surgery 12-29-03 I have lost about 43lbs. These last few days have been rough most protein that I eat it makes me VERY sick. So I am back to square 1 for a few days with liquids and a day with pureed and I have to call my dr tomorrow and tell him how things have gone and probably have a barium test. GROSS But I will do it to make sure all is well. This is the only problem I have had so I can't really complain. Glad someone else picked up on the lack of messages on here.

Tracy,
I always come and check this board too, but usualy nothing new, I too am curious as to how others who had their surgery in December are doing.
I am 5'8, weighed 288, Dec 9, 2003, date of my surgery. As of this morning my 3 mo aniversary, down to 233, a loss of 55 pounds. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I am happy with it. I am 49 years old, and haven't seen this weight in about 24 years, before the birth of my oldest child.
Hope to hear more from December people.
I too agree I check here often to see nothing new but who am I to complain sence I havent posted here in a while. Anyway I had my surgery on Dec 8th and I am down 67 lbs. I am 25 and 5'8". I feel I have been very lucky and have had no real problems up till now. For the past week or so I have been feeling sick to my stomach all the time. As soon as I wake up in the morning it is only a matter of time before I am running to the bathroom to gag my little heart out. Nothing ever comes out but its still very gross and annoying. This makes it very hard to eat or get my water in. Just the thought of food makes me have to run for the bathroom again. Have anyof u had this problem. Does it go away soon or should I give my doc a call? Thank u for any responces u give and i'm glad to see u guys are doing good. Keep up the good work!
Yes, please post! I had my surgery 12/12/03 and am down 55lbs. I am not losing fast like I was and therefore some days I wonder if this is working. I have read some horror post/profiles that some people only lost 50 lbs in a year and could never lose any more. I get on the scale like 3 times a day. Minding you that the scale was not something I ever even owned prior to WLS (lol). I do free weights almost everynite when I sit down to watch a tv program. I go to curves 2 a week but cant wait to do some outside activites when it warms up. I started a new career too... I am selling real estate. I know losing some weight has given me some confidence in myself. I find it hard to fit in 6 small meals a day. I do good at breakfast and dinner but lunch is bad. I am in the middle of running here or there. I grab a small apple, carrots and some cheese cubes and of course if I dont slow down to eat it gets STUCK. Well, I ran my mouth enough...cant wait to read about the rest of you! Good luck and keep up the faith.

Well , i suppose now is as good a time as ever to post here instead of just lurk.. i mostly come to this mssg board to make sure i'm normal and pretty much on track with all the other Dec. 2003 post ops..
my surgery was 12/29/03 . i have lost 50 lbs ..my scale reads up and down by the day but mostly there is an overall downward trend .. and that's what i'm looking for ... i exercise 6 days a week when i can - I shake it up so boredom doesnt set in. I walk, go to the gym and my new favorite yoga (which i've noticed does a lot to shape and tone ) . Well, i suppose this post doesnt really add a lot of spice to the board but I just wanted to say Hi ! Have a great day ...

Hi, This is really hard for me because I really am a slow loser. It is difficult for me to hear other people say they are slow losers when they have lost so much more than me. I had surgery 12/9 and have lost 44 lbs. Now, I am happy about losing 44 lbs in 3 months, but I cant help but be disappointed compared to everyone else. And, I get mad at the people who complain about losing more in a shorter period of time.
In spite of my disappointment in numbers, I feel better than I have in years! For that reason I am truly grateful and very happy with my WLS.
I had my surgery on 12/3 and have lost 50 pounds. Tomorrow is my 3 month anniversary. Sometimes I'm happy that I've lost 50 pounds, but on other days I'm like what is the problem.
I resigned myself to the fact that my body is not going to hurried no matter what I do. I now weigh 207 and I'll be thrilled when these last 7, or 8 pounds go bye bye. I'll be 199 and really on a roll. My goal is to weigh 145.
