I'm 9 weeks post-op down 60 lbs. feeling great now starting to deal with the mental part of all my old habits. but this is part of the process .I feel so blessed that i've had no complications or had any vomiting. I'm also learning to enjoy my exercise , a trainer has been a great addition. Hope everyone out there has much continued success. Melissa

Hi, I too am 9 weeks out. My surgery was 12/17/03. I've lost 40 pounds of me. It's hard not to beat myself up for not losing more and I have to remind myself that it took 36 years for me to get to 280 pounds and only nine weeks to get to 240 pounds. So.... I can't be upset. Any loss beats a gain.

My surgery was 12-15-03 and at last dr. visit I was down 47 lbs. I think I've lost a little more since then. I've started walking every morning and trying to do the protein shake for breakfast. Congrats to you Melissa for being down 60 lbs. Mindy F.

Congratulations all those @ 8-10 post ops. I had surgery 12-15-03 when I weighed 226. Today, I'm 57 pounds lighter. Anyone ever read Stephen King's book THINNER - when I see I'm averaging a 6#per week weight loss I think about that story. I look forward to my daily walks and bike rides. My meals are so much more enjoyable because I'm eating right. My complexion is better -- a benefit I didn't expect. Good luck all!!

Ruthanna What exactly are you doing? Your weight isn't that far off from mine and I am only down 35 pounds. Perhaps it is the exercise I am lacking. I started at 208 and down to 173 that is only -35. My weight seems to be going very slow. I eat as much protein as I can and drink as often as possible. Tell me what works
