Exercise...what do you do?
I was fortunate that my hubby bought me a new treadmill. I also have a recumbent bike. I do a mile on the treadmill and 20 to 30 minutes on the bike in the morning. If I am a good girl I do a mile in the evening too. I tried slender lady (like curves) but kinda felt insecure. It's nice to excercise at home.

I have a Gazelle that I am on everyday for at least a half hour or 2 miles. In addition, I am working with a trainer at Covenant in Waterloo. They have a special deal for my surgeon's WLS patients. I am learning the best exercises for me & how not to hurt myself (hopefuly.) When I am done with the 5 sessions I plan to join the fitness center at the hospital in the town I work at and go there in the afternoon before going to work. they only charge $25 a month and that includes all classes.

I have a treadmill that I do 3-4 times per week. I am up to 35-45 mins per session, and vary the speed from 3.1 to 3.6 mph. I also add incline of 2-5 % throughout, varying it up and down as I go. My support group will soon have discount cards for local gyms which will help me begin weight training, which is very important, especially for women.
I am also doing the walk away the pounds videos, also I am trying to just add little things of added activity during the day. like taking the stairs instead of the elevator to my 3 floor office. I only take the stairs when I am carrying something heavy with me. I park further away, where as pre-op I would shop at times I knew they would be less busy and I could park very close, now I don't have to worry about my knees or back bothering me from the walk, and every bit of more activity I do helps!
Fortunately weather isn't too much of an issue right now in Miami. First thing every morning I drink a Dannon lite and fit smoothie, put on my headphones and walk 3 miles. (On Saturday's I try to walk 6 mi.) I don't run or jog -- just walk at a steady comfortable pace. I ride my bicycle 6-8 miles three afternoons a week. To strengthen my arms I lift 5# dumbells every night before going to bed. At 9 1/2 wks po I'm 57# down.
Whatever exercise you do, do it on a regular basis. Take the time -- your deserve it!
I admit I haven't done ANY exercise yet. I am often weak and cannot function at all. I am getting better though ! I ordered a Gazelle and also pilates stretcher thingie. I want to take water aerobics classes and pilates...later I want to start weight training, I guess I'll have to join a gym then.
