Hi there. I am having really bad backaches in the evenings. I work as a sub teacher and sit alot during the day. I may not be eating and drinking enough. Is anybody else having this trouble? My surgery was 12/18/03. The backaches started a few days ago, maybe 01/08/04. I returned back to work on 01/05. Can we take anything for the pain?

Hi! Yes, I had horrible back aches also. What really helped me was when I started walking daily. Now I rarely get them and if I do it is usually because I am tired.

Hi Susan. My co-worker across the hall had the surgery 4 years ago. She said she felt the worst when she just sat at her desk. I teach also and returned same time as you. I try to make myself get up and circulate around the room as much as possible. My back hurt the week after surgery but it was due to my monthly. I rested on a heating pad as much as possible. It did the trick.

Hi I had my procedure 1/18/2003 and I to am having back aches. Also at night my legs ache while I am sleeping. I am 3 weeks out and have lost 30lbs so far. I don't drink near enoug..........maybe that is part of the problem. When I gets bad I take Tylenol. I break it in half and take it in two swallows. Haven't had any problems and it does help.

Hi Susan, I have had those backaches since I was in the hospital. For me, I think it's caused by using my back muscles to offset my abdomen's healing. I am only 3 weeks post op,but if I do too much, then I have to sit down for the pain to subisde. I just thought it was a complication from surgery.
