Heimilech Maneuver on A Bariatric Patient????

MDuring dinner i coughed, a small cough, my DH thought i was choking, I was not. However, he mada a point, if I was choking what the hell is he supposed to do, if my stomach is bypassed, how in the hell would he perform Heimilech Maneuver!!!! HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHelp!!

the heimilech maneuver uses the air in your lungs to dislodge any obstruction in your throat. If the food was in your stomach you would not be choking any ways, So you would do the same as before, place the fist just above the naval and thrust in an inward and upward fashion to expell the air through the throat to expell the lodged item.
