Hi Andrea- congrats on conquering the first month. I'm 2 weeks post and feeling pretty good too. My doc's instructions say no raw fruit or veggies (except bananas****il week 6. Every doc's different, but I thought I'd let you know what mine said. In the meantime- how about some applesauce? Good luck! Melanie

Andrea: I am not saying that you should try the fruit, but I am one month today and I have had a slice of tangerine/clementine and also a piece of cantalope....but I am not having problems with foods. I haven't tried the fresh veggies.

Hi Andrea: I have been eating my wife's homemade applesauce since my 2nd week, I can't eat too much, 2 or three ozs. at a time. It is great. I am 3 weeks post-op today. I have lost 25lbs. since my Lap RNY. How is your weight loss? Well, I will chat later, RNY.121603

My progam allows me to start eating regular foods starting at 3 weeks. I have been doing great. Yesterday I had my first fresh fruit. It was about 1/4 cup fruit salad. I ate a slice of banana,a bite of granny smith apple (I didnt eat the skin) a strawberry and a bite of pineapple. It was delicious and went down fine. I was eating splenda sweetened applesauce on my full liquid diet after one week out.

Hi, I haven't tried fresh vegetables yet, but even at 3 weeks out I was able to tolerate watermelon chunks when nothing else besides milk would go down.I was concerned about my diet, milk, watermelon chunks, and ice pops, but my Dr said that for now it is ok, that I am getting protein from the milk and fluid from the watermeon and ice pops. Blessings, Maureen
