Night Sweats/Shivering
Has anyone had problems with night sweats and shivering immediately after being released from the hospital? I don't think I had this problem while in the hospital, but appear to be experiencing both every night around 2 a.m. since being released Monday afternoon. My doctor's office is aware of it, telling me it might be a side effect of the anesthesia and due to the fact I had a fever the entire time I was hospitalized.
Just curious if anyone else experienced these things.
The day I came home I too had chills and even a slight fever. I called and spoke to one of the nurses at the hospital and she told me besides the anesthesia, that I needed to drink more fluids and to be sure to keep using my inspiramoter. She said sometimes the lungs will fill up with some fluids and using the inspiramoter helps to loosen any lingering congestion. The fluids are simply to clean your system and I was told to keep water close by and sip on it every 2-3 minutes. It worked for me. I was fine the next day.
I haven't had any night sweats, but man I have been freezing a lot since surgery!!! And that is really odd for me, because I was SOOO hot blooded before surgery. I do have sweaty episodes after I eat though, and then try to walk ... even across the room ... my heart just pounds. Not sure what is going on with that ... but I think I am just pushing myself too hard still.
There is a lot happening with our new bodies right now ... I hope you get this resolved soon!
