I had surgery on 12/5, and as of Monday lost 38 lb. I was doing great, now I am having more problems with eating. I'm still on a soft diet, many things I can't tolerate. No vomiting, just pain. I think I may be eating too fast and not chewing enough. This is hard -- learning how to eat all over again. Also I am having trouble getting in all the liquids -- water makes me gag, and I haven't found anything besides juice that I want to drink. I shouldn't complain, though, because things have gone so smoothly. No regrets, for sure!

My surgery was 12/8 and I am down 15.5 lbs of fluid they pumped into me and 23 pounds of ME weight. I am a light weight so the loss is very good for me. My BMI was 42 something on day of surgery and weight 290. Thus far, I am having no difficulties of any sort (benefiber took care of the most important issue). For a few days this week I was having some light nausea, but finally figured out that I was trying to drink too much fluid with my protein shake (16 ounces instead of 8). Once I dropped the fluid content in a meal in half the nausea took care of itself. My surgeon has me on the pureed stage and that goes for another week, then soft foods for one week, and finally into regular food. I think it is natural to have many foods you can't tolerate right now and you just have to sort them out by trying. You might want to go back to a more liquid stage and give your body more of a change to heal. I am currently doing 100+ gm protein daily (in the form of Champion Pure Whey Stack powder/water mostly) and 85+ ounces fluids daily (32 ounces are water). I did not experience a change in how things taste to me that I have been able to discern thus far. Good luck and just keep trying new things to see what works for you. I have heard that many like Crystal light. I have not tried it. I like juice/water mixed 50/50 and will stick with that because I find juice too sweet (always did). Sandra

Vote number 2 for propel! Awesome and goes down for me when ergular water will not. I do not know why. Also Sugar free popsicles are a liquid to be counted toward fluid. Try them I am telling you sugar free bomb pops are... well the bomb! LOL Seriously everyone who has tried them truly loves them so you feel like you are getting a major treat as well and they were recommended by my Dr as well as my nutritionist so they are safe and legal. Good luck and your weight loss rocks! I am down 36.5 and I had surgery 12/5 Shell
